True. So if we beat Arsenal we want Wigan to beat city and if we lose we should be cheering on a city win. The latter would feel a bit weird

...if we lose, we want Man City to meet Arsenal in the final. That way, 7th in the League gets Europe football (assuming arse and city end in the top 4...which is reasonably safe to assume). Hell, one of the Sheffield sides might get Europa next year!

Going to be a whole lot easier if we just go and win the FA cup - then we don't have to worry about any of these permutations as we will have an european place & a cup.

Easier in the sense of making my brain hurt vs the whole actually beating arsenal/city/Sheffield etc!

I know what you mean. It all gets a bit labryinthine computing all the permutations. One thing that is very clear though : that game at Emirates is a BIG game for our season.

Third time lucky in London one hopes even a draw and a replay at Goodison would be good!

Thinking about it, London is a very unhappy hunting ground for us. Spurs, Chelsea ,Fulham (Cup) loss,
Palace, Arsenal a draw and West Ham a win...doesn't make good reading.

Southampton can beat that shower next week and then they have UTD which could go either way.

They could easily fail to win both of those games. If they win them however, then fair play, they deserve 4th.

fourth is between Liverpool and Arsenal. 5th is the interesting three way now...I favour United then us (6th) then Spurs

You really favour United to get 5th with us having a game in hand, them having to come to Goodison still as well plus the fact they are utter turbo gash besides like 3 players mate?

That could well happen, although I doubt it. But the problem we have is that for us to get 4th, not only would they have to slip up in games that they have been winning most of the season, but we would have to go to Sunderland, Fulham, Southampton, Newcastle and Hull and win them all or at least 4. We just aren't capable of that.

For 4th now we would need about 25/36 which would put us on 70 and they would have to have a major slip up and get less than 14/33. Just can't see it happening.

League tables can be miss-leading at times. I truly believe Liverpool are going to drop quite a few points in the run in as they come up against the big boys at home and some weaker teams away.

Take a couple of Loss's for eg. Against Southampton and utd and it would knock there confidence. They could still then get beat by Chelsea and city.

Hate to admit it, there doing very well and they look like getting 4th if they can hold it all together. But I certainly don't think it's nailed on, there not as good as they seem and are playing largely on confidence at the mo...What happens when that confidence is dented??

If they stick with it and get 4th or higher then ultimately they deserve it as much as it pains me!
