Looked like you were trying to subvert the swear filter on this post. That or one of your buttons is stuck.

On average for the last 3 years 70 points will get you 4th:

2012/13 4th – 73 points
2011/12 4th – 69 points
2010/11 4th – 68 points

So if 70 points in the aim, Everton currently sit on 45 points with 13 games to go.

Everton currently are running at 1.8 points per game (45 points from 25 games), to hit the magic 70 point mark Everton need average to 1.9 points per game over the next 13 games.

This year's PL has a different 'texture' to it this year and I suggest that 74 points will be the minimum required for fourth. My personal prediction model has Everton finishing with 65-68.

I don't do prediction models as they would never have us losing our final home game of 2013 against Sunderland.

Still, I think anything from 65 points would be a very good first season for Martinez, especially considering the lack of net spend in both transfer windows. It won't be enough for 4th, but Kenwright bloody well better recognise the potential and plough in to challenge for the 14/15 season.
