Leon Osman has played loads for us at CM this season. That shows buying a CM would clearly not be a waste.

As cover, you'd be doing well to get better as cover. I'd say this it's not beyond Pienaar, Barkley, or I'd wager deulofeu to play there, i know the mindset is a double pivot, but Martinez varied his system at Wigan to accomadate a creative midfielder in the pivot in a lot of games in there. I'd rather Barkley drop back play deulofeu in front, then go for an obscure cover from North Belgium. Then there's always Osman.

A forward i could understand.

Not if we're trying to cut our previously excessive wage bill. With the Jelavic wage gone as well, we now have room to manouvre on the wage front, and can pay good money to our next big signing(in the summer).

It was the tenth highest in the bloody league. About the same as Fulham's and Sunderlands. How's that excessive?
