Computer games.

CoD frustrates me. Battlefield gets none of the acclaim that it does. Despite being s better engine and having the better gameplay. While Spec Ops showed it a proper story. I do like the fact Ice Cube and Michael Rooker are in Black ops though.

To be honest I just don't play FPSs anymore. Aside from the ones which aren't out and out shooters (Fallout, Dishonoured, Deus Ex). It's just tedious.

The only repetitive game I go back to is FIFA, but that's just an extension of my love for football. Even then, I f*cking hate FIFA.

Bought Wild Arms for the PS1 the other day. It was an RPG I never got round to playing as a kid but always wanted to, couldn't resist it when I saw it.

Got a backlog of like 50 games to play now though haha

I did the ISS Pro series to death between 1998-2004. Back then I had to create Everton from scratch. At some point they included Merseyside Blue which made things a little easier. Big Dunc as CF in a super-attacking formation on superhard level Master League! Dreeeeams.

I gave up on CoD when MP became a spawn camping extravaganza! I gave up on Battlefield when BF3 was crucified by Punkbuster! FPS has lost its way a little IMHO.

I'm still playing Diablo3 & patiently awaiting Reaper of Souls. Other than that, I'm interested in the new C&C Generals 2 (?) mainly because its on the Frostbite engine.

Not sure how well it's been received - Couple of lads in work have them though and are raving about them - Plus the attraction of playing FF7, MGS, Syphon Filter etc may be too much to bear!

Well it's a fairly low risk investment with the low price point, so I don't see how it can go too wrong.

Hell, I forked out £300+ for a Wii U and a few games. That's dying horribly but I give roughly 0 f*cks as I get to play Mario in HD.

FFVII is still amazing! I played it for the first time since '98/99 last year...if anything, it's got better. Greatest Story Ever Told (i'm including film and literature...seriously)

can anyone recommend me a game that sounds like this?

Adventure mystery like the first few Tomb Raider games: with vast expanses of space to explore, no linear path, fiendish puzzles to solve and epic mysterious story.

Important factor: very little combat. Certainly no repetitive combat where you have to waste endless mindless drones (so disappointed the new Tomb Raider has so much combat in it).

I'm thinking Journey meets Tomb Raider I.

Is there such a thing? In my research I've found only Portal, which I'm primed to play at some point. Surely there's more out there?

Skyrim

I played that, really enjoyed just wandering off and doing my own thing, but often when finding old mines or murky forests there were always drones to fight. This combat tended to disturb the sense of mystery and wonder I had from just exploring. It was too easy as well (a problem with a lot of modern games...easy combat means no tension).

Fallout 3?
