Tyias Browning has joined Championship side Wigan Athletic on an initial one-month loan.

The Everton Under-21s skipper could feature when the Latics host Bournemouth this Saturday.

“I’ve been at Everton most of my life so this will be a good experience,” Browning told evertonfc.com. “It will be a test but I’m sure I will enjoy it.

“It’s a step up so it will be a lot different to Under-21s football but Alan [Stubbs] has just told me to carry on what I have been doing and show the people at Wigan what I can do.”

The powerful 19-year-old centre-half, who can also operate at right-back and in midfield, has joined several of his Blues teammates in securing experience in the Football League this term.

John Lundstram and Shane Duffy are both at Yeovil until the end of the season, while Luke Garbutt's latest loan extension at Colchester United runs for a further month.

Striker Hallam Hope and defender Matthew Pennington joined Northampton Town and Tranmere Rovers respectively on one-month deals at the start of January, while Francisco Junior remains with Vitesse Arnhem for the campaign.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, forward Chris Long joined MK Dons and winger Matthew Kennedy moved to Tranmere, both on one-month loans.

Browning has made 10 appearances for the Under-21s this term, netting one goal.

Wigan currently lie 11th in the Championship, three points off the play-off places with a game in hand.

9 players now out on loan, great move.

Roberto's revolution continues apace.

In that radio interview he said that 2 1st-teamers from the academy every 2 years was a realistic goal.

It's clear that he cares greatly about developing our youth players. Fantastic to see.

Talking about loans, what happened to James Wallace at Tranmere i ead he was playing very well over a year ago, but his wiki says hes only played 12 times for them. Did he get injured ?

Browning must be highly regarded along with Lundstrum to be loaned in the Championship whereas the others are in lower leagues

Unless i'm mis-reading you, James Wallace is not on loan at Tranmere, he signed for them full-time

i may keep an eye out for our young players that are on loan see how they go, like to see Hope and Chris Long score a few while on loan we could do with a young striker coming through at Everton.

anyone remember Mark Huges the defender who left for Northampton a few seasons ago what came off him.

Yeah he's there captain, and was the entire reason they were top of the league last season, and his absence was the reason they plummeted, he's just coming back now, if he comes back to what he was he is the best player in thee division and will at the very least be a good championship player, though he's better than some CM's earning a prem wage right now, his leaving was a result of bad end of Moyes continued lack of faith in youth, which seemed to grow in his latter years as manager. He could have stayed if he wanted, and the youth team coaches rated him, but he had a taste of first team football and wanted more

I think that was part of the reason he found us such an attractive proposition to manage. Obviously being a Top 6-8 club with the potential to go higher being a major factor. But our youth set up is pretty hot, the manager gets pretty much top to bottom control of it and there are a fair few promising youngsters waiting to flourish.
