the storyline for star trek wasn't made up, nor the hobbit

by slating the storyline for the hobbit your slating j.r.r. tolkiens writing.

You clearly missed the bit in which I said I havent watched The Hobbit, infact I turned off LOTR after 10minutes, so I suppose I dont like dat Toikien fellas work.

Pretty sure it does and judging by the ratings all those films got, plenty of people agree with me.

If you judge a film on ratings rather than your own opinion then that's your problem.

Obviously you can get an idea from a review but you can't tell me you've never enjoyed a film that got bad reviews?

I think hes spot on, havent watched The Hobbit, but seen the rest and all were pretty tosh.

Semi decent action scenes, awful acting and storylines that a 5 year old would get a D- for.

I think the main problems are:

- no sense of danger anymore...we don't think "holy fook, how they're gonna get out of this one?"
- no care for the characters, who mostly only pretend to die anyway (see Star Trek ffs)
- no immersion in the action, mostly due to stupidly-hectic editing with lots of software-powered zooming, rather than using the cameras to do the zooming. And why, in my humble own like, Casino Royale is so much more superior to Quantum of Kakk.

Without these things, I don't understand how the bulk of modern audiences feel any immersion at all. I fear the new Star Wars will be more of the same.
