Might be posting this in the wrong section - sorry for that.

Just wondering whether you have had many experiences of sitting in the home end at away games? Guess it differs at every game - had an awful time down White Hart Lane many moons ago.

Thinking of going to villa on Saturday but would have to sit in the home end. Anyone familiar with the ground...best places to sit etc?

Not at Villa Park mate. A Brummy RS lad I work with (that says a lot about him doesnt it?) goes and watches the sh1te every year at VP, never has a problem.

I sit in the stand next to the Everton fans. It's probably the equivalent of the main stand so won't have no trouble

just go to your nearset charity shop , spend 50p on there throw out section, hoody from primark and jeans that have loads of blag pockets in them and zips that dont open, and you wll fit right in with those scruffy halfwits they look like the sunday morning crowd from the salvation army soup kitchen, singing "oh my lord, " for a stale butty , sit were you like as long as you dont mind the stench of stale piss. The Holte end looks like a mass casting of an Oliver Twist movie filmed in Romania in the sixties.

...funny you mention Spurs. I went to that pivotal mid-week game in '85 when we played Spurs on the title run-in and we won courtesy of Gray and Steven. Anyway, for some reason we ended up standing in their bit (The Shelf I think it was called). Interesting insight. Never said a word for 90 mins but revelled in them saying what a brilliant side we were.

Was with the Leeds fans in that massive stand ( top tier ) when we drew 1-1 and Rooney scored ( the year they got relegated I think ). That was a mad ****ing night pre/during/post match but a good laugh!

I was in the kop when Cahill scored the late equaliser at Anfield with my dad. That was his last away and one of his last everton games also, memories were just amazing.

Trying not to celebrate is difficult.

I tend to clap when we score and I'm in a home end. Just act as a neutral. I go home end for all London matches

I remember sitting in Hospitality for Man United 5 years on the run, and we had a good laugh, same seats every time, I remember Cahill scoring in the game we lost 2-1, and going mental, baring in mind it was hospitality, we could see ****ing Kenwright lol, and some pathetically small steward comes over and tries to escort my Dad (Who's quite a big fella) down the stairs, this fella must of been about 5ft 2, and he was trying to boss my Dad down the stairs, so my dad goes **** off, pushes him, he falls over, Paul Alcock Style down the stairs, everyone, even the United fans were in stitches

Hahaha, maybe don't do that though

haha was that 2007 mate?

I was in the quadrant hospitality section that day & was literally biting my fist when Tim scored. I couldn't help myself when we conceded the late penalty & stood up giving it loads, got glares from a few United in front & but about half of the section just smiled as we all realised that it was about 50% Blue ffs.

i was in the home end at Villa Park there as about 12 of us in a row. Cant remember the score but i think Barmby equalised in the last minute. Year we stayed up by drawing with Coventry. Anyway, i went mental next thing there was a punch to the back of my head. By the time i looked up I saw it was disallowed (the goal not the punch) at which point a group of Villa started celebrating by punching me in the back and elbowing me in the face. It wasnt that violent to be honest they werent full on digs and i definitely deserved it. The point of this tale is dont be a nob and you will be fine. Even if you are a nob you probably wont get that hurt.

Get registered on the Villa ticketing system, buy tickets (still available now) in the Doug Ellis stand as close to our end bit of it as you can. Don't be a knob, but no need to feign total indifference if we score, either. There'll be plenty of blues there. We've done that before, and will be in that stand on Sat. COYB!

Cheers for the insight lads!
