We headed off to the nearest tube station Tufnell Park with a spring in our step and there was an air of excitement. We didn't have a clue what we was doing on the tube so I pleaded with the member of staff on the gate to talk me through it and told him I wanted to go to central London and then on to the Emirates later that day. He laughed before telling me to get a pass that allowed me to travel in zones 1-4. We bought one each and proceeded on down to the line where the tube train comes in. I studied the map and found out which one we needed to get on so that we could get off at Leicester Square. We boarded the tube train and sat pleasantly enjoying our journey through the London Underground. We arrived at our destination and entered the city of London central. We were like an alien in New York. We had no idea where anything was so I told my girlfriend to follow her nose.
We walked down a long street before coming head on with a massive park and a lake through it. It was lovely, we walked through it and then over to our left we seen a march from these guards inside this courtyard. They were dancing around whilst they played drums and trumpets. It was enjoyable, then over to the east of us was Buckingham Palace. We walked towards it and my girlfriend wanted her picture taken outside it. We had a look around the gates and it was a lovely area.
Just over the way from Buckingham Palace was another park which we went in. There was something on the floor called the Diana Walk which we followed before arriving at a gate where there was 2 guards. There was a sign outside which read "If anyone crosses this line they will be shot" I thought Jesus! I wonder what's in there, I stood for a moment and looked at these guards, surely they must get bored of doing this? Behind the gate there was a black car, not sure of the manufacturer but it was nice. I wondered If I was around Downing Street? Who knew? I still don't to this day. We carried on walking before seeing Big Ben. My girlfriend was in her element at all these sights and took plenty of photographs. She asked me where St Paul's cathedral was. "I don't know" I replied. "Look, it's 4:30pm shall we head towards the tube station that we arrived at and go for something to eat?"
"Yes ok" she replied with a smile as she was hungry, she never ate her dinner previously.
We began walking down this main road again, I seen a couple of buses go past and remembered the guard said we had access to buses. "Shall we get the bus?" I said excitedly.
"Where to?"
"To the top of the road, we might as well experience one."
We stopped the next bus and boarded, politely smiling at the driver before sitting by the middle. We swiftly got off after a few minutes as we seen surroundings we first seen earlier. We walked through the city looking for a nice restaurant when we seen Bella Italia.
We went in and was quickly seated as it was virtually empty.
I had an app on my phone that got me discount in bella Italia so I asked the waiter about this which he confirmed for me. We sat at a table at the back next to a family who had been sight seeing. They were from Italy and had an English flag in there possession. I exchanged pleasantries before me and my girlfriend ordered our meals. I have no idea what it was I ordered as it was six months ago. I remember struggling to eat it as I wasn't really that hungry but I knew I needed something before tonight's game. We began to get excited and I started to talk team news as my girlfriend listened looking bewildered. She doesn't know much about football to be fair. We ate our meals and drank our coke before leaving the restaurant and heading towards the tube station to board the tube train to take us to Arsenal for the game. My nerves began to kick in.
Part 3 coming up tomorrow.
