Moyes: Threadbare squad with only loans to come...if possible

Player Valuation: £150m
“We are actively looking at what will make a difference but I don’t think I will be able to do much in January,” said Moyes. “I am more likely to be looking at the loan market.
“We haven’t got a massive squad of players. We bought one player and brought a couple in on loan in the summer and with that it makes it difficult to have a squad where you have great competition. I look at other teams and they have players costing £8m, £9m, £10m and there is maybe three or four of them on the bench. We don’t have that. The other day it was very difficult for us to make changes. That lack of competition means you are continually putting people out to get their form back if you don’t feel what’s there is any better."

Everton boss David Moyes: No big deals in January - Liverpool Daily Post.co.uk

We have four tough games coming right up. It looks like a case of preparing the case for the defence as he (and the rest of us) fully expects us to be in the bottom half of the table by mid-December.

OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH !!!!!!

How about:-

Yak hits a rich vein of form and starts rattling in a brace in each match:--

The defence gels and gets some confidence - clean sheets all the way:--

Midfield gels, finds a balance, start to play with the determination and passion that the Royal blue Jersey demands and deserves:--

Before you know it we're through the next round of games having dished out a few lessons in the beutiful game and pushing for Europe !!:D:D:D

OK ! Maybe someone spiked my drink last night and my usual optimistic stance has been replaced by insanity and delusion:(

You never know though(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Use what he's [Poor language removed] got!!!!

Does he think the lads on the bench cant be arsed to play? Or does he want a [Poor language removed] bench like Chelsea's? Villa, Pompy, even [Poor language removed] Citeh dont have stunning benches with players that can make a difference.

Defenders -

Hibbert
Jags
Rodwell
Lescott
Baines
Yobo
Gosling
Neville

Midfield -

Neville
Castillo
Fellaini
Pienaar
Arteta
Cahill
Rodwell
Osman
VDM
Kissock

Forwards -

Jukebox
Yak
Saha
Baxter
Vaughan
Anichebe

If he just grew a pair and changed things up, give players a chance if things a THAT bad, he wouldnt be moaning.

If he can get a Fernandes type loan, good stuff. If not, you've signed a contract son, now use the players you've got.

I'm sick of some of his quotes to be honest. He just loves to play the manager with no money role.

He has spent more than most in the Prem. Moaning about lack of depth? Dont spend £15m on one player then...

The worst bit was about having to play players who are off form and hoping they miraculously find it again because the players on the bench aren't even good enough to replace a player who is playing [Poor language removed].

Are are subs really that bad? I don't think so Davey boy. More like you don't have the balls to drop the out of form players and at least try something different because the out of form players havent really regained there form since bleeding March.

Its doing the team no good either.

Subs for Wigan - Nash, Castillo, Rodwell, Jutkiewicz, Gosling, Baines, Anichebe.

No VDM? There's a few there to make a change if he did it at early or half time, go for the attack!

No competition?

Cahill, Fellaini, Castillo, Rodwell, Osman all should be giving him competition for places, to change the midfield to see what works. Moyes just doesnt want to drop a Cahill or a Osman and will work them into the team no matter how bad it hurts the balance.

Yak, Saha, Anichebe, Baxter -- there's competition.

Baines, Jags, Yobo Lescott, Jacobsen (when he's back) Neville, Hibbert - there's competition. Baines and Lescott! Drop Lescott, create the competition.

The wings is where we're lacking, but that's been like that for seasons.

My gripe with Moyes is not that he's spent big and still complains (his ratio of net spending to Premiership finishes is very efficient), it's that he makes this point each year but still says the club's board of directors have done a good job for him by providing cash. There's the rub.

If he has to 'grow a pair' as someone put it, it's in relation to standing up to the people that have consistently placed him in the position where he always has to revert back to blaming lack of squad strength year after year - the board. He can expect no sympathy from me and many others until he does that. Personally, I think he should have walked in the Summer, because that big deal he struck for himself has destroyed his position as a selfless servant of the club - he just looks like a moaning cnut who is in on the big con being perpetrated.

You want him to turn around and blame Kenwright and co for not giving him enough money then.

What happens if he truly believes he's been backed though Dave, I mean he has broke our transfer record four times in the last four years.

He just needs to give squad players a chance IMO. If they dont work, fair enough but give em a go. Dont be playing unfit players because they're 1st teamers, playing em out of position and then say "we didnt play well". Throw VDM on the wing! I wouldnt mind if he got his leg broke on the pitch just as long as it was in a competative match, not a reserve game or training.

Players want to play. They get a chance they'll work their bollocks off. 1st team players who play week in week out no matter how [Poor language removed] they are get complacent because they know they're not going to get dropped.

If its the same VDM who turns up and cant run for twenty minutes in pre season, and the same VDM who has wasted his way through the time he's been with us while betting paid more in a week than most of us get paid in a year then keep him away from the team.

We [Poor language removed] up signing him and most people would wish they had an employer as understanding, caring and generous as EFC. How many chances does he need?

He's made mistakes yes but he hasn't done anything wrong since the beggining of last season. When he missed training because of his daughter.

Moyes has kept him on so why not use him? He used him in pre-season and we are badly lacking wide players. It's common sense really. We've got a small squad and we should use it to the max.

If he truly believes he's been backed then he's making insane comments. How could he point over his shoulder to his own bench and say it isn't good enough in relation to other clubs if he isn't making the point he's not being sufficiently backed? And, objectively, he hasn't been backed. He's pretty much balanced the books over 6 seasons. His net spending is ridiculously low for what he's delivered.

My point is that if he believes he's worth giving a big transfer budget to then he should have summoned up the courage by now to have this issue out in the open with the board, rather than sulking away for the whole of this Summer like some school kid hoping they'd cave-in to his non-complaince with an underwhelming budget they'd handed him. He looked pathetic and everthing he's said this season has lost him support he could once have counted on.

I thought he did make noises about backing for transfers in the summer Dave, I might have misconstrued them but some of the things he said were a bit close to the bone.

And Toccy; just no lid, bang on that. Desperation lar.
