Why are people shooting bullets at Tubey over this?
Its quite obvious what he's saying and to be honest I agree.
No blue would ever say "I dont want to win this game" or "I dont want to win this cup".
The point is that if there is a cup competition that has the least commercial value and gives us a chance to blood stars of the future like Stones as well as giving valuable minutes to squad players who will be called upon at the drop of a hat for the first team then its the League Cup.
Our focus shouldnt be on the league cup, hes quite right. We cant do the things ive listed above in the FA Cup or the league, so by default ourselves and nearly every club use the League Cup.

You're right, I too care more about making Kenwright and Green rich than enjoying watching everton win trophies.

Exactly. We can never compare squads with them. However, we still have to rotate dont we? Barry has been playing superbly, but if theres a game you could risk losing to get Gibson involved without too much guilt in order to get him minutes, especially with Man City looming (a game he cant play of course) then it would be Fulham, away at an empty Craven Cottage in the Capital Cup.

we are talking about FOCUS. If we had a squad like City or Spurs or Chelsea then your right, lets focus on them all.
We arent, we need success and money. Money to buy new players. Yes you may be right and Kenwright is r@ping us blind for all our petty cash. If he is there is nothing you nor I can do about it. But knowing that the circumstances are, it does not change that with a squad like ours we must prioritise, and those priorities have to be the most financially rewarding so that we can continue to progress.
I would honestly rather lose all of chelsea, west ham, newcastle and city than lose last night.

Do i want to see Everton win the Capital cup? not really, i think it should be scrapped or made exclusively into a cup for reserve teams because noone really takes it seriously and a place in the equally embarrasing Europa League isnt enough for me to get excited about. There are 3 tournaments worthy of playing for when your a team like Everton. The Premier League, The Champions League and the FA Cup. Ive always thought that way.
Thats not to say i dont want us to win if we play in the carling cup or europa league, its just to say if we were to win any of these tournaments I dont think it really does anything for our reputation and i remember slating liverpool fans a few years ago for winning it. its mickey mouse and noone cares.

However, you've missed the point I made earlier - the prize money you've mentioned for obtaining the Euro place via the league is much more easily attained by winning 5 rounds of the LC & a final at Wembley.........
