"The Toffees registered intent with the Premier League over deals for him and Gareth Barry, but it is unclear whether that will be enough to ensure the deal goes through.
"The worry is that it be ruled out, just as the transfer of Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe was a year ago."

You were right on negative net spend, especially when certain people thought we would have 30 million to spend.
Its not the lads fault we paid 13m he doesn't set the price, so let all get behind he and give him are support.

McCarthy Barkley Gibson Barry Osman makes us strong in midfield. Pity we couldn't sign Fernando though. That would have been CL quality.

McCarthy has looked like a decent utility player to me. For the sort of price we were paying I'd have wanted someone to dominate games but I guess that £12-£13m isn't so much these days and he's still only 22. I think it will do Gibson or Barry good to have the young legs of McCarthy and Barkley around them.
