Erm, yes. What a strange question.
Hold on - do you believe Gareth Bale is the best footballer on the planet?
And bravo for avoiding the crux of the post.
Erm, yes. What a strange question.
It's not been paid yet, it's for the forthcoming season.
Hold on - do you believe Gareth Bale is the best footballer on the planet?
Metaphorically speaking mate. Loads of other clubs have been spending on the back of that money. The question was, why haven't we done the same.
No.
Again, a strange question.
Bale just got sold for £85.3m, and people think fees always accurately reflect a player's talent.
Carry on.
You said that you hoped he'd "kept it to one side", so in other words you were obviously hoping we still had it.
Given that we've not been paid it & we've not spent money like a drunken sailor during the window, then the answer was surely obvious?
Bale's gone for the world record fee - you keep insisting players can only be sold for what they're worth, therefore I asked you if Bale is worth the most expensive price tag ever. It's a pertinent question.
The impression you're giving me is that you think Bale was accurately priced at £85m, and that Felli is accurately priced at £25m; I suggest that you're wrong on both counts.
You raised Ozil at £42m as an example of Felli not being worth £35m, I suggested Suarez for £60m (I know it hasn't happened, but would Liverpool turn that down, if Real had offered it?) would disprove Bale being worth £85m.
Spurs raped Real on the Bale deal, we should be doing our best to emulate with United. That's all I'm trying to say.
Completely different situation, not even worth comparing them.

On what grounds? They play different positions and Bale scores more? Does that REALLY justify a £60m gulf in fees between the two?
Spurs held out for an outrageous fee, more than double Bale's worth IMHO. Why shouldn't we hold out for a bit more for Felli? Your only argument so far appears to be the fact that there's only one team in for Fellaini; however, there was only one team in for Bale so how does that work?
BUT DAT CAROL WENT FOR 35M FELLINI IS WELL WORTH 100M

Off topic much?
