because they were all gifted to him ha. i don't think he actually got any of them out, possibly pietersen, but only because his ego got the better of him and he couldn't bare to leave the ball.

i think we all knew choosing bresnan was not going to pay off, he's batting's detoriated so much that there is no need to pick him with this in mind.

england have barely turned up all series, they've been very poor imo.

I quite like Rogers, not sure why, he's got a real grit about him, knows his game, scored a **** load of runs in county cricket, now every test is a bonus, pains me to say it but a guy like him deserves a bit of fortune, Anderson has been all over him all series, so for him to get through the new ball, it's fair he gets a few runs. Only this one time though :lol:
 
i like him too, i just fail to give anyone any credit when they get so so lucky constantly, it annoys me greatly. I put a ton on england retaining the ashes and that was it because i feared how bad their form was leading up to the series.

two early good wickets for england and now they're into the tail again they've run out of ideas. Over the last couple of years they've constantly let the opposition's tail bring the team back into the game. we'll probably end up with a 40-50 run deficit against a team with harris batting at 9.
 

kind of threw away all the good work with some poor deliveries to harries. Why we bowl short and wide to tailenders i don't know. Get the yorkers in ffs. May have taken that at the start though, no demons in the pitch, need to attack them and get a quick 320 or so. No doubt cook will see 30 as too big of a lead and play to bat australia out of the win via time. Needs to take an attacking initiative as captain though
 
one positive is that the aussies have scored a hell of a lot of runs from edges. In Aus these will carry and hopefully we'll see shades of that innings back in 2011 when we had all 10 caught behind the wicket.
 

i think it's fair to admit they have rushed this opening combination. He's too young and too inexperienced to be chucked into open. Especially given that the move kept bairstow in the team and not compton
