Moyes was a nark; Martinez is a Gent.

I like the way he refers to us as "us" and "we", as opposed to "Everton are" and "Everton is" etc.

I liked Moyes but that really got on my wick. Martinez acknowledges that he's supposed to be one of us.

Pretty sure Arsenal fans weren't consulted when they redesigned their badge - a badge most of their fans will tell you they don't like btw

So because Arsenal fans were treated badly, we should just accept the same happening to us?

Ridiculous logic.

We're Everton, not Arsenal.

Moyes identified with Moyes FC only...he was first and foremost a careerist.

There'll certainly be a difference when Gerrard retires, but Brenda isn't a particularly bad manager and with their financial backing I can't see them finishing outside the top 8 for the next 5 years or so.

No nor me, they won't sink that low, because like it or not they do have money and a large fan base. Gerrard even on his last legs is (apart from Suarez) there only last remaining world class player. It's hard, almost impossible to attract that kind of player once you slip regulary out of those CL spots. Once those two have gone its looking very grim.

I agree tho about Brenda, he's not a shocking manager or anything, he's quite good but unfortunately for them, the next few years he's gonna be taking a knife to a gunfight!!

I'm inclined to agree these days, and I think Moyes FC is about to become quite an uncomfortable place.

I think we, on the other hand, will flourish.

I'm liking Roberto - he's a football man, but not up his own jacksy like the limited Pikey across the park. I think Brenda will be found out in a season or two and they'll ditch him, whereas Roberto seems the type of thinker/technician that modern football needs.

I can't imagine him ever getting involved in, say, Being:Everton.

However, I can imagine him being a massive and natural motivator of players, and therefore I can clearly see him needing to get Bill to open the coffers for a new tin of Brasso and a polishing cloth.

Really liked the press conference video with Martinez on the main site.

Unlike Moyes, he wasn't at all defensive, answered all the questions straight, even had a joke about to pronounce Deulofeu's surname (Day-lo-foe).

Martinez impresses me every single time I see him. A major breath of fresh air. Really looking forward to this season.

I like others find Roberto very charming and likeable. However football wise I remain firmly perched on the fence.

I am glad we've got a new manager though, I'm by no means a Moyes hater but the last few seasons have been incredibly stale. A change was welcome. And if it's attacking football then I'm all in.

Norwich

The first game against Norwich is actually becoming a very tough start. The canaries have done some serious bolstering of their ranks. 1 point might be pretty good down there on that small tight pitch

Nah 3 points needed, these draws can **** right off next season! Norwich have signed some good players so far but there gonna have to gel as a team, plus will have several players who are new to the PL. The likes of hooper and van wolfswinkle will not be used to coming up against the likes of jags and distin.

Teams ain't gonna have a clue how we'll be setting up start of this season, I imagine we ourselves could be a suprise package for a lot of teams who over the last few years have probably known how to play against us.
