Don't know if this has been mentioned or if anyone knows about this but I was looking at books on amazon and I searched for Martinez. A book came up called Kicking Every Ball, his story so far. I'm gonna order it now

I will judge him on:

1. The remaining transfers- really need to pull a top class player in no more wigan players especially with other clubs bringing in high rated talent

2. how he sorts the defence out no 3 at the back martinez you fool keep it 4

I've read it, it's okay and it'll tell you about a lot what he is like but it's quite short.

Brilliant. Calling him a fool before he's even done anything.
You are a whopper, a massive whopper.

Hahahahaha! As if playing 3 at the back is going to get us relegated. If you didnt know, our defence is far superior to that of Wigans.

distin will be replaced by a defender of Martinez's choice in the next season or 2, as will jags in the near future and baines should he leave to utd this summer, oh and alcaraz is already an everton player so I wouldn't crow just yet considering the guys record with defenders. Everyone's quick to jump on moyes with strikers and say "can wait to see RVP running the channels" yet everyone goes quite when Martinez's weaknesses are talked about as its "well we have a better defence"

Interesting watch

Both positive and negative views expressed

bloke in the middle sums my thoughts up to a tee! apart from his moyes bit!

though bobby is turning my head a bit now!

Our defensive record was only very good statistically last season because we had all hands on deck in that department -- i'm sure most of us know that even then we were quite vulnerable in the air. Our defence needs to improve this season imo, if we're not going to have 11 men back for corners, and/or have luxury attacking players that won't be tracking back. That's my shilling anyway folks :)

You're a ray of sunshine aren't you.

We were more attacking last year than usual. In fact we were frequently caught light of numbers because we were up the other end of the pitch. Disagree with what you say except our defense does have to improve if we are going to get silverware.
