The ball is completely in Baines's court with this one. It will all depend on whether he wants to sign a new contract with us. If not we'll sell for probably the £16m figure being touted which, as much as it hurts would probably make sense rather than seeing him leave for free in 2 years.

Unfortunately i can see the lure of trophies, working with Moyes again and a higher wage at Manu being to tempting for him to resist.

Another reason that Moyes might want to get Baines away from Everton is because he knows that it would initially weaken us. A new manager at Everton who is prepared to take the game to any other team in the Prem is not what Moyes wants. He knows the potential at Everton that will ignite with just a few signings and he doesn't want Everton fighting it out at the top of the league. If we hold on to Felli and Baines, and get in the extra squad depth that Martinez is obviously looking for, we will be a big threat to the current top four.
