Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

If you read my post properly I never said we should buy someone else for the same amount of money! I am saying we should be spending more on a striker as this is our main priority since that was probably the main reason that we missed out on 4th last season.

Is the right answer

A 20 goal striker was all we were missing last season & with respect to Kone that ain't him & if want one it'll set us back nearer £20m than 5, but that's why I think we'll not do anything in this area until the futures of Baines & Fellaini are sorted.

How many people who are not happy with the prospect of signing a 29 year old proven goalscorer in this league would be happy for us to spend two to three times as much on Negredo or Soldado who are of a similar age and are not proven in the EPL?

It's not the most overwhelming signing as he came from a relegated club, doesn't have a fancy enough sounding name and has **** hair but he will get us goals. Also he will cost less than James Beattie and Bilyaletdinov whilst I guarantee he will contribute more.

So we have been crying out for a goal scoring striker for ages now and that was possibly the only reason that stopped us finishing in the top 4 last season and our answer to this is Kone who is nearly 30 ffs! Very underwhelming to be honest and we should be looking for someone better and younger as why can't we attract these players, we are Everton ffs, a great massive club! I do think we have some money to spend on transfers this summer as well and even more if players leave!

Lets just see what happens come Aug 30th. I will react depending on the position we are in then.

I have a feeling that Baines wont go....Fellaini? Who knows. If the bid doesn't come in from Arsenal, then maybe he wont go anywhere. Kone coming in will do what exactly? What harm would it do for us? At the very least he can help improve Anichebe, can provide a foil for Jelavic, and do his running while he's on his toes in the box, while being perfectly capable of leading the line himself if needed. What about sell on value? If Kone can score the goals that Jelavic missed last season, it'll be worth points to us, and everyone know points make prizes. Far too much judgement on here over his age.

As for Zatara saying that if we dont buy Kone, sell Jelavic and Anichebe to give us £13.5m (sic) to spend on two strikers..... Just doesn't seem like good business to me. Your reducing by a potential 3 players, to buy 2 players who are in the same price bracket as two of the three you jibbed...... Just seems non-sensical. What 2 strikers would you be uying for £6.5m that are considerably younger and/or better than Kone, Anichebe and Jelavic? Or are you saying spend £10m on one, and £3.5 on another? What happens if you have a £10m injured player?

Also if you are rated at 20m you will probably want CL fottball.

But we still might.... people are just being negative over Kone as he isn't 23 and doesn't have a name ending in inho. If he bangs 15 goals in this season I don't care if he's 42 and 18 stone... we need a striker who can score goals.

IF kone had the pottential to score 15+ goals do you really think that he would be sold for only 5m to everton?

Everybody in the league can outspend us.
