Wow we are being linked with some really **** players - mot depressing window for a long time. Someone please tell Martinez this is not f***ing Wigan

A huge risk by Martinez, his first signing, being 30 years old (November he will be 30), and spending 6.5M on him, knowing that it is most probably half or more than the half of our budget, if it didn’t work out, he will be under huge pressure, for that reason alone I think Martinez has a big faith in Kone to score 15+ goals for us in his first season

We're not going to get a striker much better for 5 million realistically

As long as he's not the only striking reinforcement we make I'll be pleased

stop trying to be sensible

this is the Everton forum, behaviour like that will NOT be tolerated.

consider yourself warned boy.

Can everyone who is putting down Anichebaby please just take a minute to stop and consider the fact that they might be hurting his feelings?
Stop it now.
He's a sensitive little bulldozer and I happen to be quite fond of him.

I told him, he said please tell bluepete we are not f***ing real madrid.

Owen Coyle said on R5 he can leave as he don't wanna play for Wigan, ,so that's it then. Deal done.

Not necessarily.

I think our 'interest' in him is true, but I also think that whether we follow up that interest will depend on any outgoings & what out budget ends up at. I don't expect any move for him to happen until after we get some clarity on Baines & Fellaini

To be honest if Anichebe and Jelavic are so bad thar Martinez is signing Kone then why not sell the lot of them.

Jelavic 5mil
Anichebe 3 mil
Kone money 5mil

Theres a pot of 13mil + surely other funds available or coming in from sales.

Sign 2 forwards and have mirallas as backup if necessary.

Common sense.

Dave..you,ve gone all in with the new manager that,s fine...no one is calling you on it.

Myself, I ,m not a moyes fan but blowing 6.5 million on Kone for a club that lives hand to mouth is a problem for me.

Has this price been inflated becuase we can,t match the money down required by Wigan? I wonder.

I'm realistic, tbh. I think the least any supporter can do is give this feller a chance. I'm staggered at the amount of people who cant do that. Obviosly not all who question his signings are opposed to the managerial appointemnt, but there's a pretty sinister undercurrent from some, and it seems connected to a view that Moyes should still be here. Well, he's not here because he chose to frig off and leave us. On the signing of Kone: we have to defer to Martinez's in depth knowledge of the player and why he'd be worth £5-6M. No one on here who questions the decision is privvy to the plan the manager has for him (or who else he may want to surround Kone with).

Said ages ago that i like this guy. We arent likely to get anyone better capable of slotting straight in for 5 million or so. Similar to Vic but sees a pass better and is a better finisher. Goes for the full on **** it as hard as you can approach (a la Shearer).

Less convinced by Alcaraz and i'll be hoping to see as little of him as possible. I'd be tempted to play Duffy ahead of this guy (presuming Johnny is off or this is just money down the toilet). Less said about McGeady the better.
