Workrate up front

It would've helped if we bought another playmaker slap bang in the middle of the park because for quite a few seasons we've never had one.

Yak could be the laziest [Poor language removed] in the world but if he got onto a Fabregas-esque or a Gerrard or Alonso-esque through ball and smashed it in, that's what he's paid to do.

No service, no delivery, no goals. Look what happend to AJ. Relying on Arteta isnt gonna work.

Have a go if yous want but not getting Fernandes this season was a bad move.

Never tought I'd ever see the words Yak and World class in the same sentence, unless they were bridged with the word 'not'. nevermind.

Work rate. Let's start with Arteta, the man whith the jet back hair, never out of breath and not a bead of sweat on him , the women love him. To me he runs hotter and colder than the taps in my house. Tonight for instance, well I'll ignore the usual attack on his 'imaginary dead ball skills' - what gripes me is is lack of 'off the ball running'.

When he plays a pass, his lack of movement then is astonishing! He used to run into space , run behind the defence for the next ball, But now? He appears happy enough to lay the ball off and 'walk to his next position'!

The lack of anything resembling movement or cohesion from the front two goes with out saying. Saha's always going to be 'not quite match fit' - He was never 100% in his days at United or Fulham and at the moment, The Yak looks like he's been watching too many MOTD's of Berbatov and seems to believe that you can amble round the pitch, fall over and get paid for the pleasure. Maybe starting on the the bench wouldd shake him up a bit?:(

Look at his goalscoring record and then walk away.(y)

But, but, but.... he scores.

Suppose that excuses the games when he has mininal impact when he doesn't.

thats my biggest hangup about him, you may say that a strikers job is to score, but i say a strikers job is to create goals, i don't give a [Poor language removed] who gets the last touch on the ball before it goes in, and yakubu does very little aside from finishing, he doesn't create anything.

at any rate, next year you'll all be saying that we've moved on from yak and don't need him anymore once saha starts scoring, after all its the everton way:@

Abysmally wrong, he is there to be supplied, its the suppliers who arent doing there job, however nobody can see this as they are blinded by the sun shining from mikels arse

Oh i dont disagree with you, his service is poor as well.

But he has the ability to make a chance for himself. He has the ability to come deep and play good balls off and make a chance for the team.

But against Liverpool and Liege tonight he has done nothing, even when he has had the ball.

But like i said, i would happily put up with that till he scores again, and thats usually in the next game.

Last 2 games he hasn't looked like he cared and has lost possesion too easily.

If he shows some effort and makes something for himself people wont mind so much even if he doesn't get the service.

But when there is nothing from him and midfield people will rightfully get pissed off. Thats why even though AJ is nowhere near as good and i wouldn't want him instead of Yakubu at least people appreciate his effort when his service is poor.

But yeah, the whole team needs to shape up against Newcastle.

One thing that stood out to me was the lack of movement off the ball,a few times the player with the ball had few options another was the space the guy who scored the first goal had,it needs sorting these are basic thingsyou dont need to be a super star to cover or to move and much as I like Arteta hes jist not doing it at the minute:(

I certainly won't have a go. Would give my right arm to have him back in there.

I didnt like the fact we played it too narrow most of the game. Arteta and Osman pushed inside too much leaving the wing backs to trying fill the space. Baines tried his best and did well. Hibbert can just not bother turning up.

Like Yakubu, Fernandes was never appreciated here to be honest. Our fans don't like genuine quality because they don't run around and show "workrate".

And we could've had him on loan or at least at a cut price -- less than we paid for Fellani.

We picked up Castillo -- Defensive Midfield sorted (to a point). Spending money on a young creative midfielder would've been fine.

None of the team at the moment have workrate. Apart from Jags -- I really love that feller. Aint seen him put in a bad performance at Center Back.

In fairness Toccy, he played 6 good games in two spells on loan and had a debateable attitude, I can see why we passed him up mate.

But youre right about the workrate thing. Paul Holmes was boss.

He never usually goes 2 games without showing anything though. Its usually one [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] off lazy Yakubu game, then its ah that why we love him in the next as he knocks one in.

If he doesn't pull his finger out against Newcastle and show some effort and do what he is paid to do people are rightfully gonna be pissed off with him.

thanks for your sanctimonious view of 'rightfully'.

i can sleep well tonight knowing you are ok with certain opinions.

(jesus !)
