If he stays for 10yrs which i presume is the plan, I want him to believe he has the ability to get us challenging for the PL
If not, he might aswell turn around now
So you were not a Moyes fan either

Any of our players piped up on Twitter yet? Haven't noticed anything.
I was a big moyes fan but If I had one critiszm towards the end was I feel his enthusiasm for moving us on from where we were had curbed a little. I don't blame him for that, as 11yrs banging your head against a wall never having the funds for those last couple of players will do that to you....It's a natural reaction, whether you realise it or not.
Roberto is all new and enthusiastic about what he can do. Plus it's his big move, most managers will never get near a club the size of EFC....moyes will be a different man again at utd. And I'm sure Roberto will be here too.
I'm quite excited, Great presser
I am just glad Martinez never said his aim is to get 40 points then take things from there.
Could swear he said he was going to bring his staff with him in the press conference. Might be wrong though. One of Martinez strengths is his charisma & he always comes across well in press conferences etc, so no real surprise that he's said all the right things on his 'debut' at Goodison.
I hope he keeps most of the backroom though, as no doubt for me that the defensive strengths of Stubbs & Weir would compliment his style & give us some continuity. It wasn't broke, so let's not smash it to pieces. He'll impress me if he takes that path, as it's the path of least resistance to bring in your own trusted cohorts - but it's not always the right route. I was amazed at how Moyes cleared out Phelan & Co at OT, not a wise move as an opening gambit imo.
Good luck Roberto
Can't post a photo but did anybody see the wreaths from the (former) badge on the press conference wall?

Wonder what his initial approach will be?
A lot of managers like to play the "the first thing I have to do is get you fit" card in order to stamp their authority on the squad straight away.
Because of the stage of the season I have a feeling he will instead play the "this is going to be enjoyable" card so that the squad like him straight away.
Training will be fun and aimed at shifting to his playing style rather than a pre-season fitness slog I reckon.
Looking forward to the new look Everton now.
It was and so was the motto. Can't post a photo but did anybody see the wreaths from the (former) badge on the press conference wall?
