You never know moyes was after him but with him having some money now i can see them going for bigger things . I hope the board/scouts has give martinez a shortlist of the transfer targets that we where going to get if moyes was in charge so he can have a good look at them

I think much to much is made about this ageing squad thing. It's magnified by our finances being what they are and a masive overreaction to a player being 30 when the other clubs at the very top have players of simlar age in there squads.

Our only immediate problem is distin. Followed by osman and pienaar, finally jags but as a CB prob has 4 yrs left in him. And we have youngsters to potentially replace all of those. 2/3 quality signings a bit younger and were fine.

No overhaul needed. Definately quality over quantity!

Agreed. Regarding age we need to be mindful of having Osman and Pienaar together in midfield, as they've both turned 30. As long as there are young legs around them to do the running we should be fine. A lot of centrebacks play into their late thirties these days, so Jags is no concern.

I'd be very surprised if they could afford Carroll and Negredo. Weren't they looking for subsidies to help them afford to rent the Olympic stadium? Maybe they're trying to sell some season tickets to help them fill it? I wouldn't put it past the shady bunch who run the club.

You say this but when there not inform they are passangers. Osman and pienaar are good players when playing well but there bodys dont let them work hard when they go of the boil . If oviedo was brought to play on the wing then we have pienaars replacement when he is gash . I think martinez will like oviedo alot . We need to replace osman though. Barkley could come in and replace him which would save us some money but we still need to beef up the midfield when fellani is band or gibson is injured . Think fer is the player unless barkley plays in centre mid then i would like honda

if they have money and will to go to that stadium ofcourse they will have green to make few big bids too.

Hes a good player but as a club in our finacial state we cannot fork up this much for this player. He not worth 10 million and because he is english the price will increase look what we got for rodwell . Fer would be a better player for the money
