agreed sadly which is why kenwright needs to get himm now before martinez
Kenwright will not sign any player, not even free transfers, he will let the new manager do everything, thats how he was with Moyes and no matter how much we hate him, we should respect the fact that he doesnt interfere in the manager's job and gives the manager all the freedom to sell/sign whoever he wants (with certain amount of budget at his disposal)

Oh and no matter how good he is, the last thing we need right now is spending 15M on 1 player, we have lot of key players in their 30s, we need to rebuild wisely, whatever money the new manager will have, I expect “quantity” signings over “quality” signings

we are a quality striker away from challenging for the top 4 and other clubs are already starting to get business done, Either kenwright needs to stop ****ing around and get martinez in like we all know will happen or bring in a marquee signing, any money spend could be recouped from flogging jelavic and heitinga in the summer

Good post.

I disagree over the quantity over quality signings though, because in the areas where we have aging players we have some really excellent youth prospects coming through. I'd rather see quality signings in the short term, over quantity. With the right manager we don't need the massive overhaul Moyes made out we did.

For me we need two quality strikers, I don't think we can risk Jelly not performing for another season. A wide player and a box to box/ attacking (depending on the managers philosophy coming in) midfielder. I think we could get away with four quality signings if we don't lose anyone.

Yeah, and you think the manager will get it for transfer funds?

not all of it, but I think atleast half will go for funds, what else will it go on? we lost £9 mil a season which one half of the £20 mil will cover, neville alongside others will be off the wage bill that will cover the wages of new faces and we will sell one or 2 anyway hopefully jelavic

We will have a new manager, all previous "targets" are history now

I wouldn't say this is true. Any manager coming in will have a meeting with the scouts and no doubt go through the current targets for the club. Sure he may decide he doesn't want certain targets, and may even have some of his own to discuss, but you don't discount a clubs current targets without looking at them.

You have to remember Martinez is coming in to a working machine... Everything is ticking over nicely, he's not coming into a club that has been getting everything wrong the last few years. Anyone with brains would work with it not against it!

Both Chelsea and city are signing players whilst not having a manager currently.
