14 assists last season. Absolutely superb player. Badly missing him.

If he wasn't injured, we would of had a midfield of Rodwell/Jagielka and Osman, which isn't as bad as Rodwell and Jagielka. But that's not the point, Pienaar is something special.

Well its a broken foot, so we must be looking at at least anothe month before he's not only healed but fit again. Agree though, we badly need him back in the team.

Knowing that we have:
Pienar
Cahill
Castilo
Fellaini

to join the midfield that played so poorly over the first 3 games is quite reasuring.

An absolute [Poor language removed] steal and £2.5mill. He's worth 4-5 times more than that.

He's a weapon in europe I think. He's knows how European teams play and worked wonders in the Uefa last year. He must've had about 10 assists in the Uefa alone - he set up 4 or 5 against Brann I think. And dont forget the cheeky little back heal to Osman for that stormer he scored.

Lets hope the rest that Moyes has brought in shine as bright.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks Pienaar isn't quite that good. Good, yes, but not good enough to get into the top four teams (Arteta is still the only one who would, and hopefully Fellaini will be that good).

He does create stuff, but his problem is he is often invisible. And he is no winger, he should play behind the frontmen. He doesn't beat his man on the wing, but has a knack of first-time passing which would be much more useful in that area. Whether he is good enough to give him a free role like that is a different matter.

There is potential but he has to be involved more.

when did we sign him?

Good player, but still pissed for his stupid tackle on Giggs last season in the last minute.

Will be glad when he's back though, but agree with the previous posts about him better more lethal in European matches - he's as lightweight as Osman, but without the same drive to compensate in the more physical league games.

Didn't the medical team state that he'd be absent for around six weeks ? He must be half way through his recuperation at this stage, surely !

That's what I thought aswell. If that's the case should be back at the end of the month or beginning of next month, depending on match dates.
