Yeah but nowhere better than us will take Moyes lad.

I suspect sarcasm, but I shall answer you anyway.

David Moyes is a HIGHLY respected football Manager, by everybody but fans of Everton Football Club.

Clearly the no silverware goes against him.

But when complete clowns like Brenda Rodgers get jobs like Liverpool, you realise that silverware isnt always important.

The Season isnt over yet, when the dust settles and a few Clubs get rid of a few Managers, the merry go round starts.

Agreed. IMO the process begins then in terms of possible new starts elsewhere come into it. I think by the end of the season (probably now, in fact) the Everton offer will be in its final version and on the table for him to pick up. And that's a scenario that's worrying as it means the time we need to sell on and bring in players becomes compressed to a few weeks at the back-end of the summer window.

There's no argument against that one. The feller is a triumph in marketing himself. A hollow man who FSG turned to in a panic after Martinez laughed in their faces. The only thing in all that regarding Moyes is that whereas the fake Rodgers benefited from not having a huge career and profile (he could sell the sizzle), Moyes is no surprise to any new employer...and that is both good and bad for Moyes' ambitions elsewhere.

And the reason we wont move forward isnt down to Moyes.

Hes took us far as he can on a shoestring, to break the top 4 PROPERLY, we need top quality squad players and a little increase in quality all round.

The main thing we need is a top class Striker.

Busting the top 4 yeah. But to win some silverware... Not for me.

The squad now can go toe to toe with the top teams in the league. But for that 1 off final or push over the finish line, he can't do it.

It's either down to the quality of the players, or mentality of the players going in.

I think its a little bit of

1) Waiting to see if any offers come in
2) Holding out for more money to spend
3) Seeing where we finish

I suppose i can probably seem at bit harsh on moyes but I do think thats about right but I suppose different posters of different opinions will all identify their own point that they think will have the biggest influence on the manager.

I have said it a few times I think moyes is a very talented manager whose done a good job here and I think the vast majority of clubs below us would bite your hand off for moyes but if I look at the 6 teams above us I don't see any of them wanting him. That's not having a pop at moyes for me just an observation.

I'm convinced Bill will promise him all kinds of things and he'll stay. Then when money actually has to be paid, reality will kick in and Bill will realise at the last minute that, just like every year for the last decade, he still hasn't got any money.

Like January with £12 million bids going in for players.

Their owners go for the flavour of the week. "Brand of Football" seems to speak more about a managers credentials when silverware isn't required now days.

Don't mean to sound like a koppite, but I hate all the revisionist stuff. It was Martinez who whored himself out to FSG, even being pictured in boston talking to Henry when they were chasing AVB and de boer among others. He was never offered the job, FSG were doing that stupid shortlist.

Rodgers told him he only wanted to speak to them if they wanted to offer him the job.

Got to disagree mate . Keep in mind I might be biased but I lost a fortune on Martinez (covered only a little by laying Rafael ) .

Martinez was offered or at least approached by villa and told Liverpool he wanted to know if they wanted him or not and kenny , who was going anyway almost certainly , went within 24hrs . Martinez is a big tart I think and wanted 'tempting' into the job , whelan & Martinez were telling people he had the job but whether that was because he was being spun a yarn who knows but I'm confident Liverpool wanted him in fact and thoroughly convinced .

As for AVB he was sorted for spurs , although madly initially it was between him and Rodgers !

All just as far as I know I suppose but I'd be staggered if they didn't want Martinez
