He has to take a lot of the credit for giving us a chance as well though. Lack of signings is obviously key, but Jelavic has let us down the most.

Not really. We're probably where we should be in terms of quality of squad. The bottom 10 have all taken points from us and his substitutions have cost us points late on.

It's amasing how much the mood and the outlook of our season has changed over the course of less than 24 hours. Let's make sure we finish 6th.

i'll give him credit for the great football we played at the start of the season just like i'll give him crap for the usual dross he has reverted to in the middle towards now. I'll also give him crap for staying with Neville, who was an absolute liability all season long, heitinga, same as neville.

also not rotating the squad yet complaining about how players are tired, dropping players who have done naught wrong to accommodate woefully out of form players and just generally being a giant tit about his contract situation and the whole 'lets see where we end up'.

In a nutshell.

with Spurs winning the season looks straightforward now. will feel like a season to build on if we approach it right. If Moyes stays then what will he have learnt. I hope its that most genuine fans at Goodison will forgive results against us if they feel the team has been sent out to compete and not to avoid reputation damaging losses. Most fans would have a much more positive attitude to the rest of the season if Barkley had started yesterday. That's before we discuss that lack of experience prob meant Duffy, Velios or Oviedo couldn't be risked in a crucial game to give some tired legs the break they needed. Is Moyes thinking about Everton when he puts the names on the team sheet? Even if he has convinced himself that he is, deep down I doubt its true. Time for honesty from him, its more typical of him over his full stint and the least we deserve. even the much berated Kenwright deserves it. Lets have four cavalier performances so we can wish him a fond farewell or believe his soul still at the club

Quality of the first eleven yes, quality of the squad hell no.

Also, he assembled that squad. For nothing.

We all know he's done wonders in terms of building the squad while operating with the financial equivalent of having one arm tied behind his back. But in the end this is his team, one that can beat the likes of United, City and Spurs one week, then look completely abject the next week against a Sunderland or a Norwich or a Wigan.
Getting up to play the title contenders isn't a problem for the players, but getting them motivated to win at a Reading or a QPR is the manager's responsibility, and Moyes has failed here. Way too often for my liking.

So 5 points behind Spurs. We have 12 left to play for and they have 15. Even if we win all of our games they'd have to lose two and draw one of their remaining five matches. It's looking like our season is now all about staying ahead of Liverpool. Fingers crossed for a Chelsea win this afternoon.

Players who should have carried us into the last game of the season as challengers for 4th

Fellaini
Baines
Pienaar

Have been rubbish when it's really mattered.

Players who have tried

Jags
Mirallas
Coleman

Players who have been solid

Distin
Jags
Gibson

Players who've done ok but really just aren't good enough

Osman
Anichebe

If Chelsea get beat today according to my calculations it could be decided at Stamford bridge if we get 5th but that means winning our last 4 games.

If Chelsea win today we have no chance and should finish in 6th.

something on BBC about European places. If England are one of the 3 top fair play countries, then we get an extra spot...that means 6th would qualify for Europe. In December, England were 4th in the rankings.

The place would go to the most disciplined team in the league, which isn't us. Not 6th. Unfortunately.
