Love them.

And back in the early 80's (in communist Bulgaria as well, music banned and everything) they were big even here.

One of my most favourite bands anyway, amazing live show as well.

And I don't agree that 2 good albums are making them big. If you're looking for amazingly complex riffs and lyrics - they are most definitely not the band to look at. The word is "rock'n'roll", it's what they are. It's not meant to be complex or hard, it's meant to be good for you and listened loud and with friends. While drinking, obviously.

They are big because they are big. Yes, somewhat repetitive, but you can only go so far in that genre. Every album has a few gems though, even Blow up your Video, which is definitely one of my least favourite albums, if not the least favourite.

And it doesn't really matter if everyone knows every single album, song and lyric by heart. When AC/DC come on, you know it's AC/DC, right?

Anyhow, I'm a lot biased on the subject, really.

From the hear there mate. Love it. They are the best, IMO, at what they do, except when they were releasing those albums, no one, except us ACDC nuts, liked them. Now everyone does!

Just to add, cuz I kinda didn't make that clear, my dad's a massive AC/DC fan (an a massive Evertonian to boot), and he told me about the 80s and that. I'm 20 this year, so I coudln't have seen that, really.

Grew up with some boss music though.

One of my fave bands and the group that got me interested in music and heavy metal/rock n roll in particular to begin with.
Personally I thought their last album Black Ice was pretty good and I think theyre releasing another 1 this year which I will certainly be buying!

Yeah, they are. Was supposed to be right about now, but someone in the band got an illness of some sort, or at least that's what Brian said to some news people.

Can't wait for the new album & world tour. Black Ice was immense, buzzing that I might have a chance to see them twice (now that I'm in the UK; also back home in Bulgaria).

Cannot wait.

I distinctly remember singing along to Dirty Deeds as a young'un but completely arsing up the lyrics as I thought it was something about a Jeep...probably 7 or 8 years old. They're popular now because the music industry in general is a graveyard and they've had to go back to the tried and true stuff to make up for the Nickelbacks of today.

Saw them at Wembley in 1979 when they were supporting the Who. A lot of the audience had come just to see them and they went down a treat - in fact the Who were nealy upstaged. The PA packed in halfway through their set but they just kept going seemingly unaware that most people in the stadium couldn't hear them properly.

However you can't judge a band purely on record sales as they like a lot of others have re-invented themselves for a new younger audience, whereas many bands have could never do that.

Not my cup of tea, but then again I'm not a bogan (Google Images it, Englanders)

Although I do get great enjoyment from reminding the aforementioned bogans that they are actually a British band. They seem to hate that, some have even threatened violence......

Same as Jimmy Barnes/Cold Chisel Scottish or Geordies etc I don't see why they're so popular but we all have different tastes, different strokes for different folks.

They are one of the few bands that different generations can appreciate. Old people dig em just as much as young people, probably because of how excellent Angus is. They always put on a great show and the riffs are superb.
