Which is the better team?

I think 95/96 was the year that Tony Grant played a lot of games. Him and Joe Parkinson fleetingly looked quite the partnership. I remember a quote from Joe Royle about Grant being inconsistent within games rather than between games, i.e. he'd be everywhere for 5 minutes then go missing for 15.

Unfortunately Kanchelskis, Limpar and Ferguson were very rarely all on the pitch at the same time, and I don't remember Dunc linking up particularly well with the other two anyway. On paper that trio at the front of one of these new fangled 4-3-3's would destroy sides.

I quite vividly remember watching a night game on Sky, seeing Kanchelskis and Dunc stood next to eachother and lamenting how rare a sight it was. I would've been about 9 years old at the time. I was a melancholic child.

Oh....and for the record.

I also think Mirallas is better then Bob the Pole was.......b)

And don't get me started about Preki :@

I really like mirallas and I hope to see him improve but at the minute he's miles from kanchelskis in my opinion

The difference, Kanchelskis was blistering, direct and clinical. Mirallas is ace but isn't even a scratch on Kanchelskis. He was just amazing.

As regards to Mirallas compared to Kanchelskis, Kanchelskis was one of the best right wingers not just in the league but in Europe between 94-96. He like Mirallas also had a disrupted first season with the saga of him actually signing taking ages then him dislocating his shoulder straight away and being out for about 2 months, but still ending up with 16 goals and a number of assists. But saying all that I still prefer Limpar to them both for some reason

For pretty much decades the only everton player to have even a chance of getting into the mid 80's dominated 'Best XI'

Yeh Limpar had lots of Quality! Similar to Beagrie in the sense that he was always a threat.

Andrei was the only one who didnt play in the cup final mate. We did ok the year after, then gash again, thanks to hamper man.

The 95/96 season we finished just 2 points off fourth mate , it's the 'good season ' he's speaking about in the original post I think

Exactly.

Kanchelskis was fantastic at United but he was on the way down when he came here.

Mirallas, on the other hand, is a player on the way up.

Close call but based on what I have seen, I prefer Mirallas.

Kanchelskis was in his prime at 26 when he joined us & he had his most successful season in front of goal of his entire career that season!
