It's a sliver of the debate, not central or 'key' to the story. The key debate Prentice chose to ignore. He calculated that enough people would focus on his reference to twitter brain donors than the Echo's own increasingly obvious cosy relationship with their ultimate paymasters - EFC. And it seems he was right in that calculation with some at least.

Everton provide news > Echo print news > People buy paper to read news > Greater circulation means greater advertisement profits.


Or:


Everton don't provide news > Echo don't print news > Nobody buys the paper as they've got nothing to say > Nobody puts ads in the paper as nobody reads it.




So the Echo need to be firmly within Option A there...

Be interesting to see the clubs next move now - key game tommorow, more or less the same team.

We need the 3 pts but if we falter I wonder if the local press will shift the debate to Moyes and keep him on the back pages for the rest of the week. It would keep the board out of the light and give the echo, radio city time to catch there breath.

Another thread completely derailed by pointless arguments about semantics.

Can we try to concentrate on the crux of Prentice's ridiculous piece without being sidelined into fighting about what picture should or shouldn't be used?

I would have thought the intent and structure of the piece was very much on topic.

In fact, I thought being labelled a vile, inarticulate Evertonian, bunched together with those who like to take the piss out of people who help out disabled kids was very much valid.
