Why do Evertonians expect success?

He's done well for Everton and Everton have done well for him.

When he took over we were a shambles from top to bottom and he's stabilised the club like we needed so he'll leave us in a far better position player and set up wise than when he left. He has however been paid very handsomely for it so while I'll appreciate his efforts he's been well compensated and we still don't have a trophy to show for it.

We still have the problem of not being able to invest money in the team so it's going to make it difficult for a new manager but things are stagnant at the moment. We peaked five years ago under Moyes and people tend to forget that, when we were playing in Europe and finishing fifth every year. This year with the way we started and were playing we thought we could do one further but due to various reasons, including poor management, we haven't.

Everyone knows that the manager's hands are tied at the club so that will temper expectation but it's eighteen years now without a trophy so it's an absolute piss take. Moyes has had a good drink out of Everton so what bothers me most in the condescending attitude to renewing both of his contracts, he's latently took the piss out of us. I know he's an ambitious man but he's got no right to pretend that his ambition is higher than the clubs, so he can [Poor language removed] off for that.

We need change in the ownership of the club first and foremost but Moyes has been happy to make himself rich on the back of his paymasters so if it was really stifling to the progression of Everton then he needed to speak up. We're not a stepping stone like he's trying to make out, we shouldn't be feeling eternally grateful for finishing fifth a couple of times. We shouldn't be conditioned into being delighted to be best of the rest, to do so would be a disservice to the club and our history.

So [Poor language removed] them. If they're in a position of power at the club then they're currently failing and they need to do something about it.

Nailed.

I think it was Fox who mentioned once that David Moyes has cost us just over £50m since he's been here.

Mad that.

But I guess that's just modern football.

Can't disagree with any of that.

His last contract was worth 17m, in which his pay was doubled, so that means we can "assume" his 2 contracts have been worth 17+8.5m.

I think 50m is pushing it a little, but hes certainly "earned" in excess of 25m, without a shadow of a doubt.

Thought it sounded a bit much.

Either way it's a lot of money.

I don't think it's right to assume that we'll definitely return to relegation days if moyes leaves.

Far from it. To assume that would be saying we'll be fighting for relegation with this team(minus fellaini) next season.
Very unlikely in my opinion. This team have individual who knows how to play football, we only need to continue doing what we're doing and be more adventurous and direct(counter attack at pace and not hoofball) and we'll be challenging for top 4 again next season. My only worry is our scouting staff. We must keep them at all cost.

exactly this no doubt DM has done brilliant for us but there is only so far a manager can take a team and it pisses me off when we talk of him going its like " do you want us to return to fighting relegation"....its this fear factor that has us in this situation

we were in with a shout for EUROPE and possible FA CUP and our manager is holding out on his contract

Dont agree, I think hes said enough is enough. I honestly believe he would have loved to fulfill his ambition at Everton and the farce at January just showed him that things are never going to change.

Hes not going to come out and slate the owner until after he leaves.

It might just very well be that. As I've stated before it's change in the ownership of the club that is the biggest priority but Moyes hasn't covered himself in glory this season with decisions he's took and the piss take of the contract talks being deferred until January and then to the end of the season. This on top of the farce of signing his last contract five years ago.

He's cheapening Everton Mick and no other manager in our history would do that. There's been only one manager choose to sack us off for supposed better things and that was circumstantial with Kendall in 1987. He'd delivered his part so went with out best wishes. Moyes is on the border of taking the absolute piss out of a club paying him millions.

How is he?

By not signing

The way he's going about it. Playing the media and talking up his own ambition at our expense.

He's not finished the job here, a job he's been handsomely paid for and f*cked up this season alone with a talented group of players. He could just a man and state he's going to walk at the end of the season instead of all this limbo.

He's devaluing the manager's job at Everton through his actions.

I dont see it like that

Do you not find it strange that he went from Janaury till the end of the Season?
