but you have to take into consideration that only about once a season would you get 3 consecutive home games and would always involve a cup match

Liverpool AWAY 4-0, Valerengens AWAY 5-2, Birmingham AWAY 5-3 (14 goals, 3 away games in a week).

Obviously not going to go through our entire history but during Dixie's time we racked up the goals
In 1930-1 we played 5 consecutive home games and won them all - scoring 24 goals. This fell during a run of 14 straight wins (a club record) where we scored a remarkable 65 goals

I don't know the actual attendance, but it was dire as I remember. As was West Brom in the league cup last season, too.

Just checked then and for that Bolton game there was 29,000.
And for that West Brom game there was 23,000 there.

Both bad attendances and I know we were doing poor at the time, awful spell we went through on and off the field.

i went to 8 of those games - obviously the victory at Anfield was the highlight but beating Man Utd 5-0 at home and then 2-1 in the league cup 4 days later was special even if the later game did almost result in me getting head kicked in - not a pleasant feeling as a 15 year old
 
When we played West Brom and Villa a few weeks ago in the same week I read on the BBC website that under Moyes we had not won 2 consecutive home League games on the bounce. Think it was only games that were not separated by a cup game for example.

Our coach got bricks through the windows at Old Trafford, great own goal by agent Gidman won it.
