IT'LL COME GOOD

It's been eighteen years since we won something and a full twenty five years since we troubled the league. For Everton that's nothing sort of disaster. We best get our finger out soon like.

Thing is mate, It all boils down to finances everytime. That goes back to the board/previous boards. At our very best in 85 were we one of the richest teams in England, I don't know maybe football evolved into money.

How did we end up so poor?

If I was a buyer I'd take one look at the stadium and walk away. It's not something you'd want to take on. The massive debt aswell. Realistically to get Everton back to a clean slate and new stadium you're looking at a personal investment of £150m,You'd also have to buy the old board out, thats without buying any players. So the first year you'd be looking at spending potentially £300m to make a push for the top 3 places in the league.

It's all about money and we just aren't a luxurious enough outfit to get bought.

We were the Mersey Millionaires lid. We dropped the ball with the onset of the Premier League and Sky by still acting like a club in the seventies and some disastrous footballing and business decisions. For which were still paying the price.

How many clubs can boast 40,000 attendances? But we've engineered a position where we just not profitable as a business and therefore not able to keep pace with those we previously dominated. The manager issue is going to dominate our thoughts until the end of the season but it's a sideshow for the bigger issue which is the club ownership. Every year that is allowed for them to keep hold of the club is pissing in the face of Evertonians.

The eighties were ace. I miss them.

until the board are gone mate nothing will change only way we will go is down the table not up, Spurs have a better squad, RS are improving and have money, Arsenal if wenger leaves will get someone in who wont mind splashing the cash and the top 3 will not budge.

the thing that hurts me more than anything is that we as a fanbase are letting this happen, that FB group against the BU just epitomised for me everything I hate about our club at the moment, no one to me is innocent anymore in regards to the position we are in on and off the field, Kenwright, the board, the fans and to an extent Moyes all are strangling this once great club and its painful to watch.

I think it's more to do with Moyes inability to learn from his mistakes, regarding tactics and rubbish subsititutions. Or his inability to get the best out of forward players, or ensure we hold onto a goal lead. Other then buying decent players for cheap and being a sarcy asshole after the game he's not very good at much else.

There's plenty of other Moyes-bashing threads you could have put that into. This one was about trying to be positive.

The most realistic chance of redemption I would say mate. 4th is out of reach barring many minor miracles, we could still make 5th, twinned with a cup final or winning one would be a very good season despite the fact it could have been better.

We're not good enough to come 4th but its hardly a 'minor miracle' that we this time next week could be on the same points as Spurs. We could be looking back in May having just failed to get 4th and blaming it on throwing away 5 late points against a crap outfit like Norwich.

A True Blue never gets there hopes up,Take every game as it comes, But we will Fight and Fight on never shall we give up COYB.

Thought we could do with a positive spin, so bumped.

One game away from Wembley, above Liverpool, still in top 6.
