There's a lot to be decided yet on the pitch and off it. He'll want to know what he's signing up for before he does. This summer really could be the 1 time moyes has a war chest to really push us on and build an actual squad not just a team. If the board are saying there's only a small amount of money despite the potential windfall...Well I couldn't really blame him for wanting something new tbh.

It's a key management rule that when the managers future is in doubt the team suffer. Moyes will have known that. The only possible reason for doing it is because his representatives have been talking to another club, who have said yes we want you but not til seasons end, so don't sign a new contract.
The way football works if he had have signed a new contract he could still have gone to a big club, it's just that we would have got compensation. He's thrown away this season just to make his next step as smooth as possible, which is disres

Why do people constantly infer that the Villa supporters hounded O'Neill out? He walked after a dispute with Lerner over his transfer budget.

He's an idiot anyway. Spending £6m on Emile Heskey when your team is sitting third in January is grounds for dismissal as far as I'm concerned.

Because the fans were in uproar everytime villa played bad or went a goal behind, filling the phone ins with we should be doing better ect ect...

Not exactly hounding him out, but thought they should be doing better and were quick to get at the team/boss after a bad result or two....

Sound fimilar to some???
 
Dont know if this has been mentioned but the echo reports that Gibsonis playing with an injury that Moyse has decided can wait till the summer to sort it. In the meantime Moyse has instructed him not to take corners or SHOOT! That explains a few things.
