If , at the seasons end David Moyes does sign a new contract, will the relationship between fans and manager be the same as it was over twelve months ago.
I specifically say that length of time because the episode over the Spurs managerial job last summer certainly raised eyebrows amongst quite a few supporters. It became obvious for the first time the manager would leave if another good job became available.
Now we have the most unfortunate situation of heading into the most critical part of the season almost certainly knowing that he will only sign a new contract if he cannot find something better.

There has been a lot of questioning about this situation, but also his abilities as a manager are now also being questioned.
If he signs a new contract can he win back those who have turned against him ?

I think hes lost the vast majority of fans and he wont be seeing them back anytime soon.

I for 1 will give him 100% support till the bitter, bitter end.

David Moyes, superstar.

He'll win me - and a huge chunk of the currently disillusioned/cheesed off fan-base - back if he nails the Cup, and grows a pair in the meantime (we're unlikely to achieve the former unless he does the latter).

I don't hold out much hope, but football kind of sucks you right in and takes over your life, so it's going to be a rollercoaster ride regardless.

I'll think it's a joke when Moyes realises no one wants him, signs a new deal at Everton and starts waxing lyrical about how Kenwright, the bluest blue this side of Smurf Village, convinced him to stay, but what are we going to do?

The majority of the fanbase have made it abundantly clear that they're not up for protesting, so I've resigned myself to just hoping Moyes stays until Kenwright dies. He can [Poor language removed] then, though.

When was this ?

i just dont like him at the moment, but if he wins the cup and he signs..i'll be happy(obviously), i just wish he'd cheer up in interviews and smile/make jokes like he used too, hes a football manager, not working down the pit for chr1sts sake...

no one will say anything just like pienaar when he left us to join spurs rather then stay and fight, just like the protests everyone wanted kenright out when the protests happened everyone laughed at them, and im pretty sure rooney and lescott could probably get moves back here if they wanted to and nothing would be said of their past

When they didn't turn up for the organised protests, and treated Kenwright to a warm round of applause at Goodison.

The ones by the same people who secretly recorded a meeting you mean ?

Just because people disagree with one group's ideology does not mean they are opposed to protest. I would protest if i felt the movement had the right aims, and didn't stop protesting as soon as the team started winning.

You mean when the club refused to give him a fair pay rise in line with other players.

If we show the form in the next 10 weeks as we've shown since the turn of the year, he will have lost a lot of the support many still give him. He lost mine at anfield last year, and a cup win wouldn't change that for me if he continues his obsession with defending one goal leads from a position of strength.
