Moyes To Man Utd

He doesnt have good terms with Rooney, but like you say, he'll be working with Sir Alex for 2yrs before taking the post, they'll learn to cooperate and Moyes will get terrific experience working with possibly the best manager in the world and then go on to manage one of the greatest clubs in the history of the game.

I dont actually believe it will happen, but it very well could and it would be no stepdown for Moyes.

I do not believe that anyone has bought into this crap.

Do none of you remember the story of how moyes came to us?

SAF wanted Moyes as assistant when he was at PNE and Moyes said No as he could never work underneath anyone as he likes to be Number 1. The next thing (to help his career) SAF gave the character ref for Moyes to come to us. I believe they have known each other since SAF was still working in Scotland.

lol, already 2 pages about something started by a RS, they must be pissing themselves.

If a RS says its raining, wear a t-shirt, if a RS says its sunny, wear a coat.

BUT, just to make it post-related, Moyes wouldnt leave to be no.2, no point, he would consider it a massive step down. And hes very much his own man. Im sure if he continues his progress in 2 years when Fergie steps down i would expect him to be a contender anyway.

Watch this space, its gonna be big.

This is all bollocks. Moyes always talks about his ambition, taking a no2 role at any club is not when an ambitious manager sees as the next step.

being a #2 would be a step down, but being at Manure would be a bigger fall. One of the bog cleaners at GP got offered the United #2 spot and turned it down on account of the unpleasant working conditions.

Hes not a coach, hes a manager, lets reverse it, did Irvine take a step down when he took the Preston job?
For Irvine it was a career move. If Moyes was promised the manager's job after SAF quits, moving there as #2 would be a career move as well. What's being number two for a year or two if you then get one of the most wanted jobs in football?

Whos to say he wont get offered the job anyway? Hes 1 of the most respected Managers in the game and im sure Fergie would give him a good reference.

Also knowing Fergie he could die @ Old Trafford, ie he could still be coaching into his 80s, why on earth would Moyes take the chance that Fergie keeps saying 1 more year, 1 more year till 2020. As long as he was still winning stuff the owners wouldnt want rid.

Moyes is a hands on person, i wouldnt think he would be happy to stick his hands in his pocket for 2 years and wait around for Fergie.
