People were getting told to sit down and be quiet"trying to watch the game here lad" in the lower bullens against west brom, some bad bells in there...

Can understand in the bullens and main stand etc coz of the views. Standing in the gwladys is a must though.

I'm sorry but standing=singing is a MYTH.
Bolton away last week. All stood, no singing. [Poor language removed] OFF.

How ignorant! All of the upper tier except a few of us on the back row sat down and from what I've seen on the highlights most of the lower was sat unless we were on the attack! Only whole game standers were near the little scum section of Bolton fans and that was where the only noise came from.
I'm not for a little singing section like that one at Bolton, or the one you see at Wigan/Blackburn etc. with all the inbred 14 year olds giving the away fans big time. Just for perhaps a block or 2 in the Lower Gwladys designated to the people who want to stand and get the atmopshere going for everyone else. Not bounce up and down thinking they're ultras even when 3-1 down, but show the team support for example when we're beating a top half team 2-0 playing well, because there was no noise when that was occurring the other night.
There's enough people who want to stand and sing yet everyone is spread across the wrong areas, you think it's smalltime if Everton were to organise a few blocks where this were to happen, yet Man Utd did the same thing last year, smalltime yeah?
Then the lads who want to go to Goodison and get behind the team can happily do so and you can all sit moaning in the other 95% of the ground. Problem solved.

Regardless of how poor it has been, I will never forget the atmosphere at the end of 2-1 v Spurs after the comeback both inside and outside of the ground.

Wish I knew how to get video's on here.

i agree - on TV Goodison sounds dead - with music from the 50's of the previous century -
i would like to see some spirit and vibe encouraging our boys instead of sitting there as though we are at a state funeral -
Goodison is the quietest stadium in the PL - does it have to be ?

Every blue will know that these days Goodison will not be loud unless we are the under dogs or playing a team challenging for champions league and the title.
Wednesday night was West Brom, WEST BROM.
And at Bolton I was in the bit where we stood and thought everyone else did tbh, didn't know we sat but end of the matter is the atmosphere was sh*te.

I like the way our fans sing when we're doing boss or something goes against us, and wouldn't change that to STAND AND SING for 90 minutes whilst getting tw*tted 4-0. That is not classed as 'good support'.
The most famous stadiums for atmospheres are the likes of Anfield, now their support has seen a massive decline.
Good team performances and big nights and big games = good atmopshere.
Not standing up.

Going back 5-6 years ago the atmosphere was much better. But that was when I was in the lower gwladys. Will never forget the atmosphere at the 1-0 win against united in the St End.

LOL.
DW Stadium.
Loftus Road.
Carrow Road.
Villa Park.
Anfield.
Madjeski Stadium.

I could carry on really, and if I was that sad I could try and get the decibel stats from this season.

Were Fulham/Blackpool classes as 'teams challenging for the champions league and the title'? Nope but just a group of fans standing up helped keep the atmosphere going for both those games. Not saying at all it'd be a section of people singing 'just can't get enough' while we're getting tw*tted 4-0. Just a place for songs to get going which the rest of the stadium can benefit from, sitting or standing as they wish. Liverpool have it at the back of the Kop if you're using Anfield as an example. There's plenty of fans who would love to sing songs which are sung at good aways regularly at home games, but you're gonna look like a mug if you try and start a song sitting down amongst a load of people who just come to watch the game. For example me at Bolton, I tried to carry on the songs being sung by the lower tier in the upper tier but in my view (you disagree) when sat down I feel stupid singing.
Not trying to manufacture an atmosphere, just to spark it - starting off a song in the Gwladys these days is a lot more infrequent.

And there's plenty of people trying to take the p*ss of a 'singing section' and I agree with you in the fact that standing isn't everything - far from it, watching Everton is the priority - and when someone behind me sits down I will always do the same with no fuss. The point I'm making is that there is a problem with the organisation of it all - if there is a 'standing section' then it is solved. Simple as that.

There's talk of trying it in the corner of the Gwladys St on Bullens side so that it can be done for league games. There's a little bit of room in gt4 on league matches but not much.

I don't think standing creates an atmosphere, It's more of a case of those wanting to create an atmosphere stand and there isn't enough of them amongst our support.

Only way forward with this is a singing section.

Toffee77 I agree with what you say. I like our support the way it is, reacting to whats on the pitch another singing section by the bullens along with the one by the main stand and Goodison will be a lot louder..
