Time and time again I hear people at the game saying 'start playing in the floor'. I go to every home but just watch always on a stream so I may be wrong however do you think we play better passing it around or route one it to Fellaini?

In my opinion, I think we should just route 1. But I could be wrong!

I know Kevin has only just came back but he tries to overdo it and he can't cross.

We did far less route 1 today with Gibson in the team. He pinged all kinds of passes all over the pitch, but we still hit it long when there is no other option or an opposing defender is out of position. I'm happy mixing it up.

When Gibson is in the team, I enjoy him finding the passes... But we should route 1 a lot more.

I think we are quality the way we are, we do long, direct, short, quick, build up its great imo.

Only reason why I made this is because we try and walk it in all the time! It's annoying as hell. Route 1 to felly and goal!!!

Your name sake spent a lot of time throwing the ball away trying a different tactic of running with the ball and either losing it or shooting high/wide. We do plenty of long balls to Felli and Anichebe as well, think we have a very even mix and I would hate to turn into Stoke.
There is a reason we dominate nearly all our opposition and that's because they don't know what we are doing.. possibly because we don't either. Mix it up, keep em guessing.

you're dead right.....you sure are wrong

You have to be able to do both. You play tight intricate stuff against the groks (Stokes) of this world as lumping it to them is what they want then against the pretty footballer centrebacks using Fellaini as a focal point should work nicely.

Also part of the problem with playing it long it that Howard has awful accuracy on his long kicks and Heitinga and Jags aren't great at it most of the time either.

It depends. You go route 1 against a team like Stoke and your are playing right into their hands. Hoof ball does work against teams weak in defense and don't sit everyone back. Spurs get burned with route 1 all the time. Sadly so do we.

I wouldn't do much hoofing against UTD next week. We have the better midfield so it makes no sense not to play it on the floor.

Yeah, there's no problem with playing long passes to fellaini when mixing it up.

Its the pointless wasteful long balls that just give posession away which has always been a problem under Moyes.

If we ever go back to route one football like the start of last season I will walk away. I can't believe any fan would prefer that style.

I'd like to see us play it more and get the likes of Mirallas in behind and use his pace as a weapon to cut teams open. And tbh, as good as the Baines, Pienaar combination is, they need to stop playing that extra pass between themselves and get balls into box cos too many times when they get into good, crossing positions, they play that extra, unnecessary pass!.

But i dont mind mixing things up and going long, but if were going to do that, it would be wise to get bodies in and around the man were aiming for!. Too many times we go long to Felli or Anichebe and there isnt a man within 2 yards of em to pick up on the knock downs or flick ons!.

Yesterday at one point we had 5 upfront and when we went long to either Felli or Anichebe, nobody got around em just incase they won the ball, so we could feed off of them and try and make summat happen, too many times the second balls fell to Villa and they cleared!. If your going to go direct you need to surround the player your aiming for to feed off any knock downs etc!.

Get a grip or get out FFS.

We were route 1 for years and they were the worst time to be an Everton supporter. Terrible football and terrible results. Amazes me that people think that this is what we should pursue. We are the SCHOOL OF SCIENCE ffs.
