This deal had a stink on it since I found out we had announced a it days before it was done, It was always destined for failure, god know why Everton never just shut up and let him sign on the dotted line first FFS.

As far as I'm concerned Davek, you do not support Everton FC.For some reason, you seem to folloe w them, but support... No!

I hope to hear this deal is back on track after the stubborn chairmen reach concensus. Please.

i smell a rat tbh, i think we have tried to get the lad on the never never and are using his knee as a excuse, bill and the board **** everything up from ground moves to kit deals to finch farm etc etc etc etc

Muller, Moutinho, Ofoe, Fer joins a long list of nos. And countless others that never happened. Billy Bremner (allegedly), Sissoko, Dalglish (allegedly - around 1970), Nigel Martyn (first time round), Peter Shilton, Bobby Robson (as manager). Any more?

Deary me. Of course it's unreasonable to expect a club you agreed a fee with 24 hours earlier to accept worse terms by expecting them to take less - in other words, EFC are looking for them to take on the burden of guaranteeing his fitness for years ahead. Unreal.
The fee was agreed pending a medical. Generally those words in that order mean that the fee would be paid after the medical was completed without issue. This issue with his knees then arose. Now tell me, how is it bad on Everton's part that they wanted certain assurances after discovering he had a potentially career ending knee problem ?

I definitely should have learned to expect this sort of thing with Everton deals by now. Just hope the club have made the right call because we're desperate for reinforcements and if we don't get anyone in/never see the money again it has to go down as a balls up

That's the rub though. In other cases Everton have pressed ahead. The club cant claim to be acting out of any principle here.
Where's your evidence to show Everton have pressed ahead with a transfer on the same terms agreed prior to a medical which uncovered potential long term injury issues ?

I wonder how many people here would buy a house without an inspection. And if the house was found to need repairs that weren't visible when the offer is made, still pay the agreed upon price.

Because I think it would be zero.

How on earth is it unreasonable ? The terms agreed to between the clubs did not detail these injury issues.

It could be unreasonable for a number of reasons.

It has been reported that Fer passed his medical, and that he is fit to play in the Premier League. But Everton reckon they have seen something which may, or may not, affect his knees in the future. The signing of Mirallas shows that no signing is risk free when it comes to injuries, so just how Everton expect to have the fee reduced on the back of “He might get injured in the futureâ€￾ is anyone’s guess?

It may also be unreasonable because it is starting to dawn on some people that Everton had no intention of paying 8.5 million pound in the first place.
