Brennan

Player Valuation: £90m
Striker Anton Forrester has joined Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer.

The 18-year-old, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, moves to Ewood Park following a successful trial period with the Lancashire club.

He has signed a contract that will keep him with the Championship outfit until June 2015.

Forrester joined Everton at the age of nine and progressed through the Club’s Academy ranks, featuring regularly for the Under-16s and Under-18s sides.

Most recently, the Liverpool-born frontman had been on the fringes of Alan Stubbs’ development squad, making seven appearances for the Under-21s this season.

As part of the agreement with Blackburn Rovers, Everton will receive a percentage of any future sell-on fee for Forrester.

Why aren't we getting a fee at least? I have no problem with selling him, but FFS you'd think we'd be compensated for his development surely?

I mean:

Who cares? We've nurtured his development since he was 9 - if Blackburn release him in a few years we get sod all for training him for nine years!

Yeah, and if nobody wants to pay for him what then ? It's not like we're the only club who let young players go on a free transfer. He had 6 months left and Blackburn could have just waited until the Summer and gotten him then, meaning we'd pay his wages for six months knowing he'd be off anyway.

at least we have put in a future sell on clause. so if he goes for a decent amount in the future we will benefit, though of course, if he turns out to be ace, we will look a bit daft maybe...look at Baines for example!

.....I saw him a few times and thought he was half decent. As they say, I wouldn't be surprised if he made a living out of the game. Surprised if we let him go without some type of sell on clause.
