Player Valuation: £150m
Neiler, Grand Old Team, Bruce Wayne etc...anymore I Feel Good or Bill Kenwright Apology threads in the pipeline? Surely even you people now see how desperate the situation is?

Desprate was 4 weeks ago mate.

Melt down time......

The club needs to quash this Baines to Sunderland story this morning and we need one in today or tomorrow at latest. Morale is the lowest I can remember since the days of Walter Smith. Shambolic.

relax lads, they've probably got a load of new signings sewn up, but the damn minibus has broken down on the way to the press conference & we've got £50 million worth of talent sat on a grass verge waiting for the rac to turn up, for all we know anyway. (y)

bloody hell. i wouldn't want to be near you chaps in the trenches.

we are going to field 10 first teamers plus lukas. hardly any need to freak out. we are only playing blackburn!

players will come in before the window shuts.

You know what they promised the lads in the trenches dont you? "It'll all be over by Christmas".

A couple of points.

1) Tuesday is not even half way through yet. Many were happy enough that signings would be made by Tuesday, lets at least see Tuesday out before we panic.

2) I follow Everton for the enjoyment of it. If life has taught me one thing it's that there is little point getting upset about things I have no control over. Who we sign is something I have no control over. So sure it's not ideal right now, but getting in a tizz over football is something kids do.

Fair enough. I wished I was that aloof from the situation.

I think most people are panicing because this season is supposed to be when we step-up again, take the jump, become contenders for the champions league, a cup...something. There has been no signs to comfort fans that this could be the case, not one bit.

The team on paper at the moment looks like we'd struggle to compete with Middlesbrough never mind the top four, top ten etc.

I'm still confident we will make some good signings before the transfer window shuts. I am worried that they will not be here in time for Blackburn, and possibly West Brom however. But hopefully whatever team we put out will be able to scrape a couple of results there. It is worrying because we all know how important it is to get a good start. That's my main concern, as there are still 19 days of the transfer window left so we have more than enough time, but we have 3 matches in that time period so that's my worry. Hope that makes sense.

Whether grounded in reality or not, the appearance of the situation doesn't
inspire morale or instill confidence.

It is one thing for fans to complain about the size of the squad. But when you hear players make the same point it certainly takes matters to another level.

Everton needed a week or two of aggressive action in the transfer market after the Kirkby decision. Right now, whether you're a fan or a player, you're sitting in some state of purgatory wondering what the hell is going on.

I don't think anyone wants to sign someone just to bring in a signing. But you look at a rival like Aston Villa and you get the indication of a long-range plan in place that both front office and manager put into action. With the Everton management, you get the sense that all the planning side went into Kirkby and not much effort was put into reviewing the playing side.

Agreed to 1000%.
