If Disney are involved, you can bet that they'll shoe-horn Jar Jar Binks in there.

In which case, I'm out.

Leiea in that sexy metal bikini thingy - well, now that's a different matter.

Disney own the Marvel movie franchise, there wasn't any Jar Jar Binks characters in them. Chill nerds.

If Disney use the Avengers films as a bit of a blueprint for how Star Wars should be done I think they will do fine. The Avengers films have proved that you can have main characters in their own films and also all in one film.

They hated the original films too though mate.

I thought it was a fantastic film. 8.0 on IMDB and 8.1 on rotten tomatoes is not the sign of a bad film.

Who would you put in the Drivers Seat for this one, B Man?

Not sure tbh, i'm less concerned about the director and more worried about it being Disney led. They'll want a definite limit on the amount of violence and the themes not being too serious.

I don’t know enough about JJ Abrams to know if it’s good or not, but why all the Disney hate?

I loved the original Star Wars trilogy, and grew up as a kid going to the shop and marking off which figures I had on the back of one of the packets so the lady could put any I didn’t have behind the counter etc. I’ve still got most of the figures but sadly gave away the spaceships etc. that I had to younger family members.

The newer Star Wars films were ok, except for Phantom Menace (crap), but I realise I’m perhaps not the demographic they are looking for. As a Parent, I’m excited for the new films and Disney’s involvement. If the films start to come out in 2015 then I hope my kids will be able to enjoy the trilogy in the same way that I did. And hopefully, I’ll be right there alongside them enjoying the experience once again but this time with the added bonus of seeing how my kids enjoy it. I’d imagine the Theme Parks will have some decent Star Wars stuff there as well with the new films.

Was a huge Star Wars fan as i grew up, went to see the first one as a 7 year old on a day trip to London at the Tottenham court road cinema ( it had a huge poster outside with lots of mirrors and flashing lights on it).
Didn't think much to the last 3 so if JJ is on board for it i hope for a good film as i have liked what he has done so far.
So here i sit fingers crossed praying for a half decent film with no sign of JarJar Binks
May the force be with him on this one!!

It'll be too family friendly and cheesy i think.

Wish they'd taken advantage of the lore and make something dark and interesting like:

Actually, one of the Star Wars live action series' is rumored to be based on/similar to Star Wars 1313. Supposed to revolve around a crime syndicate in the sub-levels of Coruscant. Although that could just be nerds getting rumors confused.

Knights of the Old Republic would be a better choice, lets face it the first game had what was probably the best story of (and implementation of that story) any Star Wars item since Empire Strikes Back.

Also meatbags, etc

Isnt that what goes on in the jedi academy trilogy book?

Couple of things.....I think Abrams is a good choice.

The Phantom Menace was the worst of the lot, but had the best lightsaber fight by far.

Star Wars: Clone Wars is superb (the first animated series by Cartoon Network, not the CGI one)

Hot news for Han Solo fans!
Latino Review reporter Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzalez appeared on Fox News Latino today to break the news that Harrison Ford will definitely be back to reprise the role in Star Wars VII, slated for 2015.
Rumors have been swirling since November, but Gonzalez is the first to claim he has confirmation.
"I found out yesterday. I did my due diligence, like I do with everything. Triple checked. Legitimate sources...His deal is done," Gonzalez said.
Ford and Lucasfilm have not yet confirmed anything, beyond that J.J. Abrams will direct.
Although Ford said in an ABC interview in 2010 that he thought Solo "should have died in the last" Star Wars film, Entertainment Weekly reported in November that Ford was interesting in playing the role once more.
The Latino Review has a strong reputation for breaking film news, notes Total Film.com, so it looks like we can all start debating whether Ford, 70, should return.
