Wonder if they'll put a few extra quid onto the ticket prices?

What the london clubs do when they're short of cash but not sure how many of our fans could afford to pay it.

Good question.

I can't see how they can't.

We've been almost selling out each game and if we make top 6 then the old supply and demand will see to an increase.

I don't mind paying a bit more but it's still going to be hard as it isn't the cheapest hobby currently.

However, that said they also need to ensure that all other commercial activities are fully maximised e.g. Shirt sponsorship, merchandise, worldwide branding rights etc otherwise it's a complete waste of time and OUR money.

Funny thing is when I joined this forum I was a total Kenwright lover. I would masturbate to his shadow. I'm slowly coming round though.

Ha, it was like I was saying to you yesterday mate, it gets in your head this place. I worshipped Moyes and kenwright before I started posting here.

As for the ticket prices, it will be a bugger if it does go up. But I dunno I'd rather pay that money to Everton than the rail companies who I'm paying 90 quid a match.

This pretty much hits the nail on its head.

Does anyone think that Everton could actually make a profit even if the current board members were eventually replaced. I know we could improve certain commercial activities but I would be interested if anyone thinks we could actually make money in this crazy world of entertainment.

Actually the business model isnt that difficult to compare to the American NFL.
Each league is #1 in viewership, attendance, tv deals, sales, and popularity but all of the NFL teams are in the black.

The marketed difference. Salary Cap and transfer fees.

It wont work unless FIFA enforce it globally (and I dont know how they would) but the ability for the owners to control the player wages better would see a huge change in the bottom line.
I am all for players making bank and for clubs receiving compensation for the sale of a player but it is exhorbtant on a scale that no other sport can compare.

I can speak for the MLS, the salary cap they have in place keeps the league viable otherwise it would be exactly as the scottish league (2 ...well now 1 powerhouse team in top division, and then everyone else.) On their projected path more and more teams are now becoming profitable.

Raising ticket prices wouldn't really be worth the backlash.

Even if for example they raised the price of every season ticket by £100 (which they wouldn't), then that would only bring in an extra £2m per year.

The big money is in TV rights and other commercial opportunities.

Quite shocking... I wouldn't be a bit surprised even if we sold Fellaini for £40mill which I doubt we could. We would probably still in debt with £40mill.

You are right.

Skeleton crew makes a good point.

Will we ever sell? As this seems to be the only answer that is going to potentially get us out of this hole.

The premier league system is not going to change therefore our wage to turnover ratio won't which is going to kill us in 3-5 years (IMO).

Our first 11 is ageing and we're losing money year on year.

I for one do not want to see my club having to sell its best players every couple of seasons to pay the interest bank.

Moyes has taken baby steps forwards year on year whilst the club overall has been taking great strides backwards financially.

I don't want to be Crewe or Southampton of 2005-2010 in becoming an academy for the rich clubs. I also don't want to be the next Leeds or rangers.

Still looking forward to the next game though!

Can someone give me a straight answer as if our club will be ****ed and do a Pompey or will we continue to progress? That's all I'm worried about atm, thanks

No, luckily our on the field assets are worth a lot, if we had to - we could probably raise 30 odd million selling 3 players.

just a shame when the BU had momentum going our fans **** out over the whole "fence shouting" debacle, thats the reason why nothing will ever change your average evertonian is okay to bitch and moan but when the sleeves get pulled up and we are head on with boys pen blue bill we fall for the "he's a blue doing his best" crap.

Not at all. Don't lump everyone in the same boat. I don't jump because someone tells me to. I want to see facts in black and white and - get this - some kind of alternative put forward before I have a go at anyone at the club. That to me is simple logic.

Has he taken cash out of the club? Give me proof? Has he turned away viable investors/new owners? Tell me more? Has the present board made mistakes? I can answer that myself. Of course they have. All boards of every company do but that alone is not enough to want to throw it all up in the air and hound Bill out when there's no white knight standing in the corner.

I think Kings Dock was the single biggest mistake. I think not investing properly when we were fourth was a massive regret. But sometimes we have to face facts. The stadium is knackered (as much as I love it) and we have next to no corporate base and the city is on its arse. Outside the North West we hardly register with newbie fans beyond those with links to the 80s. We have the RS on our doorstep and all that brings with it. I personally would have hated Kirkby but if it had gone ahead I wouldn't have washed my hands of the club.

I take the point that a lot of how I feel about the team is down to the success of Moyes working miracles. Buy many's a chairman would have sacked him at various points.

And don't dismiss the fact he's a Blue so easily. I for one like that and it means something to me at least.

At the end of the day I'll happily look at any alternative that's properly laid out to take the club forward.
