i don't think other managers would be able to do a much better job with that squad tbh. If the owners do decide to sack him in the near future, where do they go then? they talk about this new philosophy, but will they just revert back to the normal way of playing their game or go for a manager even further down the scale who "plays football the right way". martinez turned them down so it would have to be someone at championship level or a low standard team from abroad.
not that they play too much different to what they were previously - they're no swansea it's got to be said. where swansea got 60% possession in a game against Arsenal, scoring 3 in the process (last season), liverpool have scored virtually all their goals from set plays/headers or own goals.
Also, i think rodgers has a terrible eye for a player - he resorts to buying players that he has worked with before, mostly ex chelsea players. at swansea he bough sinclair, mceachran, borini - then at liverpool he got borini again, allen, Sturridge and talk of franco di santo. he also got siggurdson last season who he had at his time at reading - has he actually bought a player he has scouted for?
