Have u got it mate? Ive read good things but a real negative seems to be the battery life?

Initially, I thought that battery life was going to be a major concern for this phone. After all, the notion of four Cortex-A9 cores (in the global model, anyway) spinning at up to 1.5GHz paired to a dazzling, bright 4.7-inch display doesn't exactly instill confidence that you're going to make it through a day on a single charge. In fact, I didn't at first — I was getting 6-7 hours with almost no use whatsoever. Fortunately, HTC pushed a software update during our review process that more or less quashed the issue.

Due an upgrade on my current contract, options are stay on price plan of £36 but increase internet to 2GB and get a free samsung galaxy s3, or same deal and pay extra (quite a bit as I would want 32/64GB) for iphone 5, thoughts?

Last few phones have been, iphone, iphone 3gs, iphone 4 so yeah considering continuing the trend but really tempted by the galaxy especially how its cheaper. BUT music is a must for me and I will miss just plugging my phone in and letting it sync automatically to itunes

You like Armin Van B, you must invest in an iPhone.

The battery is alright on the HOX. Not as good as the S3 though (of course, the S3 has a monster sized battery in it). Personally out of the two, I just prefer the S3. This is mainly based on the fact that the S3 is flashed to an AOSP based ROM and the HOX is still running Sense over ICS. Really, look at the screens and base your desicion on that. They both have excellent screens, though the S3 gets a lot of jip of it's Pentile arrangement, but to my naked eye you really can't tell unless you really, really look. I prefer the colours on the S3 screen, but many people say the AMOLED screen over-saturates colours.

Really, hardware wise, they are incredibly similar. If you can go the flashing route, then get the One X. It is a gorgeous looking phone with a superb screen. If you plan on staying stock, then get the one that fits you best (Sense or Touchwiz).

Or, like Bryan says, if you like your music and have a taste for it, then on musical output the only option should be the iPhone. Seen some pretty damning reviews where the iPhone outperforms everything when it comes to music.

Cheers for the advice all, I've read some in-depth reviews on the phones, think I'm going to break the bank and go for the iPhone, especially as I listen to music for 4/5 hours a day in the gym and long commuting to Uni, just like the ease of the iTunes sync and as Dylan said the iphone is the best for music output according to a few reviews. iphone it is then cheers.

Anyone using Google Music yet?

Loving it so far. Balls to plugging in the phone other devices to upload/download music. Upload 20k songs for free, stream them anywhere. Download em.

Anyone liking it?

I am after a new phone, preferably want it from 02 and only really want to spend around £25 per month. Are any of these any good?

Don't want a Blackberry, got one now and it is awful, had a lot a problems with it and the one I currently have I can't use it in daylight as the thing used for scrolling doesn't work in the day.

I'm no expert but the top 4 phones out at the moment (besides iPhone, as it'll be expensive), in my opinion are:

1. Samsung Galaxy S3
2. HTC One X
3. Nokia Lumia 920
4. Sony Experia S

Can you get any of those?

I will have a look to see if I can get any good deals on them, nice one.

No problem mate. As I said I'm no expert so if anyone else knows any better then please feel free to add.

I've got a HTC One X, it's a good phone but I've had a few issues with it, whereas a lot of people have had none at all.

I think the S3 is probably the best out of that lot.

Have you already got a contract with o2? You may be able to haggle a decent deal out of them if you play your cards right.

I am currently with Orange, but due to my dads work I can get the first two months free at 02. Might try and see if I can get a decent deal off Orange.

On O2 - £26 a month contract, unlimited calls, texts, and 1Gig of data

1. Samsung Galaxy S3 - £299
2. HTC One X £199
3. Nokia Lumia 920 - Not Available
4. Sony Experia S £199

To debunc the Fandroid myth. iPhone 5 on same Tariff £249 for the 16Gig and £299 for the 32Gig. Not Having a pop at the helpful poster I'm quoting, but it is a bit of a myth that Android phones are cheap and iPhones are expensive. It's just simply not the case. High end Android phones are priced roughly the same but with substantially cheaper materials and R&D. Although, a trade off is you do get a bigger screen and you get the obligatory 'throw everything into the phone even if it's not useful. Mind you having said that there are a few useless pieces of junk on the iPone 'Passbook' for example.

If you're going to use it for music, I personally think iPhone, especially if you have a Mac and want to transfer music. Android is utter pants for transferring music off a Mac onto the device, no idea what the experience is like on Windows. Otherwise I think the general user experience on the new Android devices has caught up a lot. Just be cautious you don't get a device that has to wait six months between OS releases and you being able to get the update, that's my main bug bear with Android these days.

If you use Quidco, you'll get £50 cashback for getting any of the above phones, excluding the iPhone

I assumed that the fee for those phones wouldn't be that high, but you're right that's iPhone territory, so maybe that's the way to go.

I pay £26 a month for my One X, 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB internet and the phone was free, but I did haggle that down a bit. If you've been with Orange for a while then you may be able to get something similar, or better.

Transfering music to my HTC from my PC is dead easy too. Just like putting stuff on a USB pen.

I would recommend saving up. Buying an iPhone 4, or 4S, ten getting a giffgaff sim

£12 a month unlimited texts, data and 250 mins
