Obefimi Martins?

Just bored at work so I thought I'd throw some hypothetical stuff at ya!

Now that its rumored the Barcodes are bagging one of our rumoured targets Pablo Aimar for about £8mill.

Now......taking into account the AJ situation (which has gone VERY quiet on all fronts) --

What do you think of Martins who only 24? He'll probably be 3rd choice with Viduka, and last season spent most of the time on the bench.

Would you think he's a worthy addition and how much would he go for?

No because Newcastle will want around £12-15m for him, and i still highly doubt that he is 24. He seems to have been around forever and a day.

According to Newcastle fans I know he's there best striker so I doubt he'll leave. He's better than AJ so he'd be a step up but I can't see it to be honest.

Really? I like the kid (or grandad depending on his date of birth) and averages out 10 or more a season even when he's injured for the most part.

I'm sure you could bag him for about 10mill being that he aint needed as much and he'd probably wanna move.

So..........that's a no so far.

To be fair to Martins he is a good player. His goals to game ratio was good last season despite him missing alot of the season. In his first season he scored 17 goals which is a good return.

He's definatly a good player.

He could probably do a job......but whats the point in that. Aj an Vic can do a job. Theirs much better out their. The next striker we bring in must be able to match the yak. Or whats the point.

But that's breaking the bank. I was thinking of strikers you could get for the same price as what's touted for AJ (if he went) that could be better (and who isnt Darren Bent).

He's better than Anichebe.

He doesn't really work well with Yakubu from what I've seen. They where terrible together for Nigeria.

He'd also cost alot more than 10 million. I think they bought him for around that price so he's probably worth around 15 million now. Good player but not for us.

I was thinking that no you come to mention it. But then again, Nigeria's service from the midfield might be a bit [Poor language removed]. Big Joe had to bang a few in to show em how its done.
