I'm only up to that mad bit with The Outsider, but already it feels pretty special.
Little disappointed with the graphics though, the textures seem pretty poor in places.

I like it. Went stealth route and just on my way to Sokolov's house. Getting to the overseer was pretty sweet like...
I've had enough of FPS'ers. I don't care how good they are anymore, I've just had enough. As a sort of protest I'm not going to entertain the idea of buying another one.
I'd like games developers to try and come up with something original instead of Gears of Modern Metal Battlefieldlands 6.

It's not an FPS though. It's a first person game, but not really a shooter.
More of a first person stabber. Or Stalker.
It's your loss anyway. I see where you're coming from -- I don't play CoD anymore and pretty much avoid all FPS games -- but this actually is "something original".
I'm sure it's a good game, it's got Bethesda as a developer after all, but I just can't bring myself to care. I'm not trashing on the game itself at all and I'm not saying it's a bad game.
I know it sounds weird but that's where I'm at right now. The genre has killed adventure games, RPG's, simulations, strategy titles... everything has fell by the wayside so that lazy devs can create an instant FPS hit and make cash using the same graphics engine from 100s of titles before it (in Dishonored's case, Unreal 3), so I'm not going to support it at all and just hope the genre dies a death very soon.

FFS Tubey first person isn't a genre, it's a perspective.
Dishonored has nothing to do with the CoD kind of creativity-void, copy-paste sh*te. It's highly original, and you're missing out on a great game because of a seemingly erroneous perception of what it is... or some weird vendetta against games from a first person perspective. Do you not like Portal?

If I'd known about this earlier I'd have put in for one of the higher tiers, Obsidian do good stuff like
FPS is perhaps a genre, but not every game in the first person is an FPS.
Anyways. If people are tired of FPS copypasta, XCOM is worth a go.
Still a bit embarrassed about spunking nearly £100 on new games in the past week or two. Ooops.

Actually I didn't say FPS. I said first person isn't a genre. Dishonored isn't really an FPS.
Also, technically, FPS isn't a genre. Action is the official genre, of which shooter is a sub-genre.

Exactly. If Tubey's ignoring Dishonored as some kind of "ENOUGH WITH THE COPY PASTE FPS GAMES PLEASE" protest, it's a bad kind of irony.
Also XCOM is the sex. Only played a few missions but it's so perfectly nerdy.

It's a turn based strategy game. The original XCOM is worshipped by strategy enthusiasts and so this remake had some high standards to live up to, but it's getting stellar reviews from critics and fans alike.
And no mate, it actually isn't a genre. Next time you post with the sole intent of making me look wrong, make sure that I'm actually wrong!
