For what it's worth i think Landon and Dempsey are both very good players. Tim Howard isn't. He was never very good, he used to be ok - good, now he is worse than that.

Get buttland in!

Well, yeah we all know that Howard will play over Mucha (and before that over Ruddy, Turner and nash) even with two broken arms, so you can't blame Tim if it's obvious to him too. But honestly I think he's just getting old and losing a second or two in speed of though. The second goal was him just not reacting quick enough and being caught between two stools.

All the nonsense about him never have been a good goalkeeper is bollocks but he's been on the decline for more than a year and that's too long for me to view it as just a bad patch of form. I sense another Cahill.

Fair enough.. But Friedel is 40 now I think.. Age aint nothing but a number..

More to the point Montenegro never make it to the Euros themselves just qualifying. USA get to play teams like Guadelope and Barbados at the actual tournment and Montenegro would tear those guys to pieces.

Never? They've been eligible once.

exactly, dropping him for mucha may give him a kick up the arse and improve his performances. if mucha is as bad as everyone says, he will make a cock up sooner or later and howard will be back in the team, sitting on the bench for 3 or 4 games will make sure his place isn't a given. look at what sir alex is doing with de gea and lindegaard, alternating making both know that that No.1 jersey is not for sure and providing healthy competition from both.

Everton need to challange Howard by getting a GK who will challange him for a starting place.

Look at Brad Friedel - playing his best stuff becuase spurs added a top keeper.

Moyes has brought in keepers who have never posed a threat to howard - that needs to change in jan.

I totally agree with this. Howard is great when the box comes from inside the box but his positioning and decision making go downhill when others teams have the ball outside our box. I hate to say it but I can see why he didn't make it at Man U. Now he has made it at Everton, he seems to be undroppable, more cos of lack of alternatives than anything else. I think he is good, a top 10 club keeper but he doesn't seem to be able to raise his game with the squad the way it is now

Honestly Howard peaked around about 2010. It's all been downhill since. He was shaky as hell last season and thus far this season he's yet to have a good game.

I agree with this, Howard cost us a fair few points from howlers last year.

I think he is fine if our ambition is to be mid table, 8th - 14th place.
But I hope our manager has ambition to one day challenge for a title, and you would never challenge for a title with Howard in goal, although you could say that about most of our squad.
I dont think he is a bad keeper, but he is not a great keeper either.

And like it or not, my Man United work collegues like to remind me he is a United reject.

So is World Cup, Euro Championship winning Fabien Barthez.

Igor Biscan won a CL.

some times players are passengers in teams, doesnt change the fact they are not good enough for the very top clubs.

Look up Phil Neville, he's made a career out of being a passenger.
