get a black cab, then you can spend your evenings picking up loonies instead of having to look after 'em at work, at least if they're getting on your nerves you can hit the brakes and splatter them on the screen.......or maybe you get to do plenty of "restraining" at work as it is.
you can also slide the panel across if mrs coyney is giving you driving tips as well.(y)

Youve heard about her then:lol:she was moaning last week about my parking any how I got the Mobility scooters out the boot and went in to a big store the type that normally have automatic doors so she races towards the door (alright 4mph isn't racing:lol:) just as she reaches the doors she realises there not automatic after all loud bang the security guard comes running over to see if shes hurt and I was clinging on to mine so I wouldn't fall off laughing shes still a bit funny with me:lol:

Fuel saving advice.

I have some tips to save fuel. Reduce the weight in your car-remove anything in the boot you don't use.

I took this advice a little bit too much to heart and even had my legs removed. Okay, they amputated them because of diabetes but I'm saving on petrol and the state have given me a noddy car to get about in.

Here is the US Dept of Energy's guide to saving on gas prices (please bare in mind this is US based, therefore US prices are used)

  1. Slow down.
No matter what kind of car or truck you drive, gas mileage drops dramatically at speeds over 60 mph. As a general rule, every 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an extra 20 cents per gallon of gas
  2. Be gentle.
Avoid jack-rabbit starts and sudden stops, which can lower your gas mileage by 33% on the highway and by 5% around town, according to the Energy Department.
  3. Lighten your load.
Try not to keep unnecessary items in your car, especially heavy ones. Each 100 pounds of extra weight can reduce fuel efficiency by 1% to 2%.
  4. Scout out cheap gas.
Gasbuddy.com recommends avoiding gas stations in affluent areas and near major freeway exits. In major metropolitan areas, outlying suburbs tend to have the lowest gas prices, according to the web site. If you're not in a hurry when you're traveling, gasbuddy.com suggests driving a few blocks from the freeway exit to find cheaper gas prices. But look out for service stations with on-site auto repair shops. Gasbuddy.com reports they often charge more for gas.
  5. Skip traditional gas stations.
Check out wholesale clubs, grocery stores or department stores with gas stations on site. Gasbuddy.com says these businesses often sell gas at discounted prices to entice people into their stores and may offer credit for in-store purchases when you fill up with gas.
  6. Keep your car in shape.
Worn spark plugs, low transmission fluid and dragging brakes can suck your gas tank dry. Check your owner's manual for recommended maintenance schedules and get regular engine tuneups. Fixing a car that is noticeably out of tune or has failed an emissions test can improve its gas mileage by an average of 4%, though results vary based on the kind of repair and how well it is done. Fixing a serious maintenance problem, such as a faulty oxygen sensor, can improve your mileage by as much as 40%.
  7. Avoid idling.
A gas-powered car at idle gets zero miles per gallon. If you're not in traffic, but expect to wait longer than one minute, consider turning off your vehicle. Idling burns more gas than restarting the engine. Also, look into hybrid cars which can run on battery power when idling.
  8. Don't neglect your tires.
Keep your tires properly inflated and make sure you have them aligned periodically. You can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Plus, properly inflated tires are safer and last longer.
  9. Purify the air.
Replacing dirty air filters can increase gas mileage by up to 10% while also keeping impurities from damaging your car's engine.
  10. Choose the right oil.
All oils are not created equal — and that's especially true when it comes to engine oil. Using only the manufacturer's recommended grade of motor oil cited in your owner's manual can improve your fuel efficiency by 1% to 2%.

I have noticed the difference since I have had the two mobility scooters in the car permanently ,living in a bungalow theres no space so rather than put them in the shed they stay in the car but my miles per gallon has dropped I keep meaning to check it as the cars got all that stuff on the dash but I'm scared it will be even worse than I think.

Cash up front, it's the only way to go when dealing with family members.
Its The wife's idea hes going to sell his (4 years old) and give me the cash he gets and if I want more some each month which translates to I'm going to be ripped off:@If the daughter good drive I would give it her for free but hes a different case.

I hope it all works out well for you, there's nothing worse than a financial squabble amongst family members, been there, got the T-shirt.

I know it happened last time with a cousin,I change my car every three years and last time my cousin was desperate for a car for work so his mum starts giving the wife a sob story and then she gets on to me and you can guess the rest.and this time IM that confident I wont see much cash Ive promised my seven year old grandson Ill put half of what I get into his car fund(I started putting money away last year so when hes eighteen he can have a car straight off the show room instead of bangers like I had thats upset some people as well but thats another story.(y)
