First time I've posted on this thread, but I have checked it many times over the last few days, and I can't believe how negative it is sometimes. I am sure the club will be doing it's best to get the signing complete, it took Rodwell over week, just this story has broken early and we are all in a state of panic until the club makes an announcement.

Drenthe, Straq, Baxter, Cahill, Rodwell.

Drenthe was not permanent.
Stracq was not permanent + not very good.
Baxter barely featured.
Cahill = YES
Rodwell = YES
Pienaar = Loaned.

So we lost 2 players, and 3 loaned players, at end of season.

Naismith replaced Cahill (Improvement imo based on last season)
Pienaar replaced Pienaar (No worse off)

Junior is coming into the squad more and will replace Rodwell's squad place. (Got 12m+ for Jack)
Vellios will feature on the bench instead of Stracq. (Arguably a good thing)

We have money to spend, and loan slots still available.

Put the razor down Davek.

However you paint it up and im not saying I disagree with what your saying, but as it stands, today, we have 6 less players from last Season.

But hey, the windows still open.

'When' we get two in on loan you'll say 'they're not in the squad' will you?

You're paying a disservice to everyone else there. Was it LCAB who broke this story?

No, but the lid who broke it says it's still on. I'm going to believe him until he's proven wrong or says otherwise.

How do you still have such faith in what he says now though? His first few posts on this thread were "We have signed a Belgian striker" and "signed and sealed" - It's hardly that now is it? He got the name, but that's all.

How is "signed and sealed" not black and white?

I understand stuff happens, even til the last minute, i get that, players, managers, agents, most of us get that, so why would an ITK not?

Hope more than faith I guess, but it's far, far more impressive to pull out a name that NO ONE else has than to say things about players we already know are now linked. Especially things that can't really be proven or confirmed.

Some things you can make up, but the odds of making up what DAVIDMOYES said are stupidly low.

I'm with Bobo on this. Signed and sealed is a definitve, no turning back, not reliant on a medical or agreeing terms or fee, statement. Clearly this wasn't the case. I dunno how he got the scoopon our interest, so props to him on that, but after that first statement I won't be holding my breath for anything else he says, as it simply can't be trusted to be accurate.

It's off because it was never on in the first place. Right from the off Arsenal were in the mix and Olympiakos and the player were and are desperate to go there.

The OP said it was signed and sealed. That was a balls on the table statement that gave us hope - especially as he's got a 1 in 2 success rate. But this has never been really on has it?

I'm sorry, I must have missed the internationally broadcast interview when he and an Olympiakos rep stated that. Mind linking me???

Arsenal or whoever, he wont end up at Everton. If he does, it'll be after all other avenues have been explored and he and Olympiakos are stuck with the realisation that no other club wants to take a chance.

As for DAVIDMOYES: it sounds harsh I know, but if you come on and drop a no frills dramatic statement and it doesn't work out then it's pretty much all credibility lost. There are ways and means of diseminating info and this wasn't a clever way of doing it...or indeed fair on others he must know are desperate.

Agree with this tho

That's just it, there's a difference between speculating and knowing. The best ITKs know how to manage the info and the expectations that go with it.

I realy hope I'm wrong and that the OP is all over this thread screaming 'in your face' at all doubters and detractors - me included.

And this...

So says the 3 post wonder.

How many posts has DAVIDMOYES got again???

Sorry if already posted, but couldn't be arsed trawling through the drivel posted:-

Mirallas said: “It is good that one or two Premier League clubs are interested in me, but there are still two weeks to go before the transfer window shuts. It will be a race to get me, so let’s see who wins. The main thing is, I do feel ready for the Premier League.â€￾ , and I am looking forward to playing there.â€￾

One factor which could help the deal is Mirallas’ friendship with Belgium team-mate Marouane Fellaini. “Marouane and I are both French-speaking Belgium players, so that would be an advantage for me,â€￾ he said. “Maybe he can convince me I should become an Everton player.â€￾

Thing that gets me with this quote is; it first turned up in the Daily Fail, no mention of when it is from, and the morning after he made his televised statement suggesting he was leaning towards us, but considering his options (100% right policy for me btw). Surely if this statement was current (and I presume it would be from sometime before that game, considering the statement made after), then there would have been more like 3 weeks to the end of the window, and possibly more, which to me casts doubt on whether this statement is a) legit or b) not a case of patching together different quotes from different timeframes. There is not mention of either us or Arsenal in the first part of the statement.

Overall my feeling is that a deal is in the works, but sensibly he is weighing his options (as he said in the tv interview), and from a neutral perspective, why wouldn't you want to go to Arsenal over us in the current climate, playing time aside? If I was Iijy and if I thought that anything I said was more than just hunches and conjecture I would say there is a 63.14% chance. But lets not all expect it to be wrapped up overnight and keep bombarding the thread, let the kid take his time to make the best decision, and hope that it is us. If it isn't we'll move on, after all most of us hadn't heard of him a few short days ago, and few of us have any idea if he's actually any good, and how well he'll adapt.
