Tired from Olympics etc etc.

tbh he shoulda held on to both of them and if the 1st had gone in he'd have looked a right one flailing at a ball that was going in real time slow-mo.

Far from the best saves even in that goal, for that see G.Banks, Pele, 1970.

oh sorry, he's American isn't he

GREATEST NET-TEND EVER PARRRRRRDN'R

Sorry, but bollocks.

No keeper in the world would have held the second one (or even tried to), and the first one took a huge deflection. You can't see it that well in the replay, but Howard's entire body weight was going in completely the opposite direction, and he did really well to get back the other way and get a hand to the ball.

Were they as good as Banks's save from Pele? No. But not being as good as arguably the best save ever made doesn't stop those two from being fantastic bits of goalkeeping.

YEEHAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tim looks to be in great form, great news for us.

Chicharito looks terrified of Tim Howard. Great news for us.

held onto both?? 2 fantastic saves which a lot of keepers wouldnt make

If he had missed either of them and been left flapping at fresh air, how much of a div would he have looked ?

By slapping balls away keepers give the opposition another opportunity to score, and with a spinning ball they chance slapping it in their own goal.

Not a fan of keepers punching the ball, but then I've seen the best in the business and I've seen him nonchalantly catch balls that others wouldn't even get fingers to.

Timmy was magnificent! He's got Chicharito in his back pocket.

Great warm-up game for him heading into the season.
