Middlesbrough are releasing Fabio Rochemback.

Hes only 26 or 27 and whenever I have seen him he's always stood out and played well.

On a free, tall defensive midfielder, he'd be a good squad player.

I fully expect the 'He's not good enough for Boro, he's not good enough for us' brigade, but I really do think he could be a decent signing. He's played over 40 games for Barca and over 40 for Sporting (scoring 10 goals).

If he wasn't good enough for Boro, then he probably wouldn't crack our starting eleven much less our bench.

He's not a defensive midfielder. Infact he has no defensive qualities whatsoever. He's more of a play maker. A poor mans Manny at best. On his day he's a good player but very inconsistent.

He'd definatly be a good squad player but I doubt he'd want to sit on our bench. I'd rather have Julio Arca to be honest.

He was a defensive midfielder for Barca, didnt see much of him for Boro.

He'll go back to Sporting but on a free he would have been a decent signing to bulk up the squad. Just dont want Neville in midfield next year

Agreed. thing is because he's english, you pay a higher price. Or go get an unproven player from abroad.

Downing for us would be great. He really would be.

He'd be a signing i'd be excited about. He needs to leave Boro, Moyes and Goodison wouldn't half get the best out the lad.
